Friday I swam another half mile - next to some guy that was apparently preparing for the super-lifeguard competition. Each time he swam a length he'd jump out of the pool and do either push-ups or sit-ups. Most of the time he was dragging weights behind him.
That evening, I went to the city-kitties art auction and had a good timing talking to random people and wishing I had a job so I could bid on more stuff. They raised a lot of dough without me though. I hung out late and help to clean up by eating all the horseradish hummus (surprisingly tasty).
Saturday I got up and rehearsed with Leah Stein's dancers. I quickly went home, changed and hit the gym (I am behind on my workouts). I lifted 15,000 pounds, declared it good enough and went home again.
After I got cleaned up, I hit a LARP that my buddies wanted to try. I don't have a strong opinion of it yet, there were so many new players (and so few returning characters) that there was a lot of character building and very little play time. I will try it again and see what happens.
Today I got up later than I hoped and rushed to meet
simoniff for brunch and Longwood Gardens. We spent close to 4 hours walking in the gardens, watching the fountain shows, strolling the woods and talking about random subjects. I think we got our money's worth, but at $16 a pop, I won't be doing it again real soon.
It was a pretty full weekend, and it was mostly good.
