I'm quite tired again. Wandered around town for 2 hours (which is like, a marathon for me) in search of a 24-inch length of silver chain to go with my resprayed ID card holder for work. What? So I've realised the power of accessorising, so what? Anyway, my search was fruitless, as was Plan B (finding one of those clip-on type things), but I did still manage to spend money. A trip to Avalanche with
thewick turned up two discs from the 2nd Hand section - Pure Cult (listening now) and the Gravity Kills album I already have in mp3 form (attack of conscience). Continuing the used goods theme, I found a copy of the 3rd edition D&D Player's Handbook for a dozen quid, part of my quest to concoct a Bard character usable with you lot if and when we get something sorted (more on Neverwinter later).
I also went hunting for the rumoured cyber shops and found them at King's Court, just 5 minutes away from Turbo's old gaffe - thanks to Paul the
industrialgod for the tip. It was heartening to see that there was very little pink and/or fluffy clothing on display in those shops, but vigilance must be maintained lest this menace rear it's ugly head again. That said, the styles on offer did make me feel rather old... I think if I was ever going to get into the fashion, I'd have to make my own gear from scratch to feel comfortable in it. For instance there was a very nice body-armour style vest with transparent green panels stuck on the front, which was nice, but would have been better in purple. Anyway, I know they exist now, so I'll be back sometime.
Just realised I got ahead of myself. The weekend was utterly unremarkable. There, all caught up.
Right, back to
Neverwinter. I've reached Chapter 2 - heads up folks, Mutamin's Challenge is a bastard. It got me to Level 10 though, so not complaining too much. According to the Player's Handbook, I reckon I've hit upon a pretty good character type for this kind of game (Dwarven Rangers work in caves, apparently!), and it doesn't hurt that I chose a good henchman to complement me. Add to that my panther, and my almost-always present summoned animal (a dire boar, currently) and it's a pretty strong party all round. Bring it on!
I've had to go to the shops every two days on average since the start of the holiday because we keep running out of easy food. Wish Wick still had his wheels.
Nothing else occurs to me, so it's off to the Daily Surf before I head back to the Port-Llast to Luskan Road.
