[AU!Verse backstory]
Earth
The AU!Verse begins shortly after finding Earth at the end of Revelations). The Colonials find there is no one on the planet, and while some structures remain, most everything is abandoned and destroyed. Before they can really investigate what happened to the people and civilizations which once inhabited the planet, the Cylons returned for one final battle with the Colonials and the renegade Cylon fraction, which had previously declared a truce with humanity. The Colonials are successful and send the Cylons retreating, fractured and severely damaged, though there is no guarantee they won't return.
Sam/Kara/Leoben
After learning her husband was a Cylon, Kara ended up in bed with Leoben Conoy, the Cylon who had been obsessed with her from the moment he met her. The two had a very intense affair until they were caught by Sam, with whom Kara was still estranged. A confrontation took place, which resulted in all three of them having a very heated argument followed by a very heated sexual encounter. There was little time for discussion, however, as shortly afterwards the Cylons found Earth and the battle had begun in earnest.
Following the Cylon's retreat, Sam asked Kara to move in with him, so they could at last live the life they'd wanted on New Caprica. Kara, conflicted, told Sam she loved him but she had feelings for Leoben, and she wasn't going to pretend she didn't because of what had happened months ago with Lee Adama. Leoben suggested that they simply live together, as he has no concern with Kara being sexual with, or in love with, Sam--as long as she continues to be with him, too.
Unsure of a way to keep his marriage together and not wanting to lose Kara once again, Sam agrees to this decision. The three of them find a fairly damaged structure a few miles from the ocean and begin rebuilding. Kara is given an assignment to become a flight instructor, and Sam decides to put together a Pyramid league instead of returning to his training as a Viper pilot. Leoben is currently unsure of any future plans, as he finds himself at somewhat of a loss concerning occupational opportunities.
The main purpose of this AU is to explore the characters and their relationships; a lot of technical details will thus be hand-waved. This is very honestly a self-indulgent idea of the author, who is unapologetic about that fact. :)
This AU-verse will be written as prompt responses and in RP-journal tags, using both ficlets and first-person interactions. As this is AU after Revelations, no new canon will affect this plotline. Prompts will be taken fromtrue_writers and [info]couples_therapy. All entries relating to this AU 'verse will be tagged with "verse: threesome", and nothing that happens in this 'verse will affect Kara's relationships with any other muses in her canon!verse. Occasional posts will be made to aggregate the prompts/rp tags/ficlets that are included in this 'verse.
