Jack zipped his jacket up higher to keep some of the cold air out. Today wasn't too bad as far as days below freezing went, but the wind that whipped up off the water was killer sometimes. The Homecoming dance wasn't far off and Jack was getting ready by tying his tie. All that was left was to put his jacket and shoes on and spend a stupid amount of time fixing his hair so it was sticking up at the right angles. Jack had never been more glad to wake up in his dorm room. He'd spent all day yesterday with Bobby riding a bus back from home in Missouri, where they'd spent the last week. They'd almost survived the weekend. Almost. Jack wasn't going to relax until he got word that Mom was back in Hart. For now, he leaned against the wall outside the hotel waiting for her and Bobby to get back from wherever they were. He bumped shoulders with Courtney. "Are you going to tell Marcus everything?"

As soon as class was over, Jack had been off to the computer lab to see if he could find out when their mom's flight would be in. Of course, it was 2010 and the flight was in 2005, so it wasn't as simple as checking the website.
