Tonk did up the clasps on her coat with chilled fingers and looked at the small, shabby house. She knew that, like nearly all their safe houses, it was sturdier than it looked and the inside was far better than the outside. Even so, it wasn't anywhere she'd want to stay for too long.

She'd once spent five days holed up in this very house. It was warm and safe and reasonably well supplied, but the isolation had nearly driven her spare. That and the sound of the ocean at the base of the cliffs, the constant whisper of the waves somehow making the house seem even more silent and deserted.

Of course at the time she'd been desperate for news, dying to get back to the action. Now the silence and isolation were the appeal of the house. They needed somewhere Ron wouldn't be disturbed, and if they were honest, somewhere he wouldn't disturb anyone else. In that respect this distant little safe house was ideal.

"As much as I'd like to get out of this wind, I think we'd better start at the perimeter and work our way in. That way the protections can build on each other the central wards will be the strongest."
