Oh, it was going to be just perfect.

Penelope and Ginny had already planned out the meal and the food was all sitting safely in the pantry under statis charms. The decorations looked even more vibrant, and Penelope had made sure to put all of her gifts under the giant tree in the hallway so that it truly felt like Christmas. Her pride and joy, however, was the huge collection of stockings currently hanging up in the main living room - each one carefully stitched with the name of the Order member. Everyone had one - even the dead. Penelope was certain that they were with them, especially at Christmas, and knew it would mean a lot to everyone to have the reminder.

Not even this was enough for Penelope. She had made a considerable decision - not only were they all going to have a proper Christmas, it was especially going to be a real Christmas for the Weasleys. Subconsciously quashing the idea that this could possibly have anything to do with feeling guilty that Percy had not contacted her since his father's return, Penelope found herself humming carols as she wandered through the corridors with her list brandished in her hand.

"Arthur!" she said with a smile, as she entered the study in which he always seemed to be sitting. "Can I ask a favour?"
