Dear Percy,
As I write this, I can't help but wonder how you are, how you feel about the choices you made now. And I bet you're wondering, as you read this, if you're hallucinating. You're not, by the way.

I'll be perfectly honest: I swore to myself that if we ever did reconnect, it would be you who made the first move. You were the one who walked away from the family, not me. If anyone should be offering an olive branch, I felt justified in thinking it ought to be you. And I was prepared to keep that promise to myself, to wait another six years, if I had to. I really was.

Until Ron came to me and told me about how he'd run into you at the Burrow. Until he told me about how you'd found our parents' graves--graves I spent a month looking for with no success--and how you neglected to give him a location.  I'm sure it just slipped your mind, didn't it?

You wouldn't be so heartless, so selfish, as to deny the rest of us our right to visit our parents' graves, to mourn them properly, so it must have slipped your mind, in your anger at Ron. Now, I could be giving you more credit than you deserve. You could be heartless and selfish. It's entirely possible. You could be a completely different person than you were six years ago. And of course you are. We both are.
But I'd like to think that something of the brother I knew, once upon a time, still exists; that you aren't so heartless and selfish that you'd keep information about something that means so much to us to yourself. I'd like to hope.

I'd like to meet with you, to hear your side of things. I realize now that if I want answers from you, I'm going to have to be the one to make the first move. And it's not about me any more. It's about Mum and Dad and being able to give them the goodbye they deserve.

So... this letter is your proverbial olive branch. Do with it what you will, Percy. Throw it in the rubbish, if that's what you want. But just know there won't be another.

If you try to trace this letter, know you'll be wasting your breath. You won't find me that way. And if you show this to anyone else, they'll think you just want to show off your new stationery, and you'll look like an idiot. This letter is for your eyes only, and I have every confidence it will stay that way.

And before you flatter yourself, all these protective measures are not for your protection, or mine. They're for the sake of something much bigger and important than the two of us, and I won't have it compromised. It means more to me than my own life, so if you care about that at all, you'll keep this letter secret.

If you do decide you want to meet me, send discreet word by either Penelope Clearwater or Angelina Johnson and we'll go from there.
