smiles, as usual

:( Something is wrong with my computer, so I'm on my dad's. This is the first problem I've had with my iBook and it is disheartening!

I have to work tonight, but that's okay because I'm floor supervisor instead of being on a cash register like I was yesterday. I got very stressed out. I don't understand why people I work with think customer service is more stressful. I mean sure your bosses expect more from you and you can make bigger mistakes, but that's what comes with the responsibility. It's actually a lot less contact with customers. That's what stresses me out- people who are mean or stupid. Or both.

I was talking to my mom about how there will probably be no customers tonight when I work (5-10) but then I decided that maybe there are people who just don't care that it's the 4th of July, or who just aren't doing cookouts or going to see fireworks. And then there's the Asians. There are a lot of Asian people that shop at Lowes, and other foreign people. I bet they'll shop tonight. Oh well.

I went to Elon on Monday to put some stuff in my apartment. MY APARTMENT which is AWESOME. It has such a cool layout! You walk in to a little entry area where we're going to put a table and chairs, and to the left there is a little window into the kitchen, which is very small but definitely manageable. My and Elizabeth's bedroom is straight ahead. On the other side of the kitchen there's a little breakfast bar and a pretty good sized living space, then Alexa and Ashley's room. Each room has it's own bathroom, too! Elizabeth and I hung out on Sunday for about four hours. We meant to just go to lunch but we hit it off so well that we went back to her neighborhood (near Friendly) to go for a walk and then we talked with her parents a bit. I saw her dad nodding off while I was talking, haha! Anyway, I'm really excited. We have pretty much every kitchen appliance we could ask for, and there's a volleyball court next to our building and a little lake behind it and a few disc golf baskets around :D Alexa already put some art on the walls in the living area. Ooooh man I am excited :D

Last night I made dinner. That always makes me happy, especially when it's not planned. I got up at like 10:20 to Anya talking ot me throught the door, asking if I wasn't supposed to be at work. Oops. I was supposed to be there at 11 and I had set my alarm for 10:30 instead of 9:30. Oh well, I got there on time. I had to kicke Reid out though, haha. When I got off work I had a lot of steam to blow off because of some heinous customers, so I went to the Y. My dad must have been there at the same time but he is usually in the pool so I didn't see him. I worked out pretty hard, did a lot of ab work, which felt good :) I went home and was hungry so I asked what was for dinner and my mom said there was fish in the fridge. I took it out and said, "Mahi mahi?" My mom didn't know how to cook it...I guess she just thought it sounded cool? Haha..so I got out my cookbook and I made oven-fried Mahi Mahi. It was delicious :) I dipped it in milk, then flour, then a mixture of breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, butter, dill, and pepper. Then I baked it for about 20 minutes and it was so good. We made rice too, and my dad had the idea of putting some dressing in it, along with the parmesan cheese I put in. I'm fairly confident that just about anyone can cook, but it feels so good to know I can do it :)

Today feels very blah. I'm really upset that my computer just keeps randomly turning off, and it's even more upsetting that the closest apple store is over an hour away. Also my phone rattles when I shake it, and I don't think that is right. And the left blinker on my car is about to go out and I need an oil change and new windshield wipers. Man! I'm done complaining. Oh wait, I think one of my wisdom teeth is coming in and I was supposed to get them out about six months ago :( Okay now I'm done.

I really am in a pretty good mood, despite all that. I wish Reid and his family were coming over for our little fourth celebration though. We invited them, but his parents are "busy." Hmph.
