nine foot daisies aren't what they seem

quote of the day: "i like songs about drifters... books about the same. they both seem to make me feel a little less insane." *modest mouse*

so we are in pennsylvania at last. we have been here for a while now and it's starting to feel like home. i still can't find my way around in the dark though, and i think that's how you really know that you are at home. but, we're getting there. our place is super cute, but it's approximately the size of a shoebox. which would be fine for just tom and i... but you'd be surprised how much space a little peanut uses.

speaking of el peanut, annalee is getting so big. i gotta a taste of my future yesterday when i was doing the dishes and annalee (who is pulling up on things and standing) was standing behind me with her little arms wrapped around both my legs so i couldn't move without making her fall down. i realized that she's gonna be a toddler soon and then i realized that she is too big and i need another baby who's small. but we can't have another baby until i go to the dentist. problem is, i'd honestly rather go through childbirth again than have a stinkin dentist all up in my grill [don't worry, i can use that phrase b/c i have done extensive research on what one's "grill" actually entails, and this is an appropriate placement of such a word. plus, i can say whatever i want so back up off my junk. (i have also concluded my research on "junk" which is a bit more broad, but still acceptable in this scenario.)]

enough of that. gees.

ok, so here is the top ten best/worst about being in PA:

-best-
10- tom got a teaching-ish job and he likes it so far.
9- tom's job gives him a paycheck, always a plus.
8- we have a house, so we don't have to deal with annoying apartment issues... namely shared walls. (other house bonuses are a yard, driveway and pretty flowers that i can pick everyday if i want.)
7- i get to finish school.
6- we are a little closer to tom's family in new york.
5- nicole is out here, blystra and chrisann might be out here in january. heather might be out here... who knows when. magic dan and dane are out here. jeff and juliette are out here. ray, taylor, lou and some more of tom's friends are here. friends are nice.
4- we live in wayne, which is super nice and close to everything.
3- we've already had a lot of visitors! chrisann and christine both flew out to visit. visitors are nice.
2- we aren't by any family really, so it's kinda just us, which is good for us.
1- we have a shed.

-worst-
10- i have to finish school.
9- we are still super far away from my family and tom's isn't exactly next door. so, we miss them all.
8- we live in wayne, so things are crazy expensive.
7- we pay $11 a month for dial-up, which should be free b/c it doesn't work.
6- no counter space.
5- sharing a room with a 7 month old can have it's downfalls.
4- broken cell phone.
3- going way over minutes on cell phone.
2- way too many idiots drive black suv's. seriously, just pick a different color.
1- there is not one single dollar store within a million mile radius i swear. you ask somebody from wayne where a dollar store is and they just give you this sort of blank stare. i try to explain what a dollar store is, and they always (without fail) point me to the nearest k-mart. why is this. what's happening? i have looked at k-mart, there is actually very little there that costs a dollar. seriously, i am looking for all dollar items. a *dollar* store. i have to go, i'm starting to sweat.
