Everything and nothing at the same time. After all, my memories are buried somewhere in my mind, deep in the recesses of my brain. I know that they are there, it is just making them come out that is the problem. I can't seem to make them come back.
Other people are remembering more, bits and pieces, but the specifics of my past continue to stay away from me. So instead I focus on what needs to be done, on the world we have landed on and the place we now call home. I must make it better, worth living in. And I can help do that, so I do. Because I know if I dwell too much on the past, I will get upset.
Others are lucky. Bower, for instance, is lucky. He remembers.
But I should be patient, my time will come. Besides, what good are the old memories? I can never go back there, and if I haven't remembered them by now, maybe they're not worth remembering.
Tanis is my home now, and I have to make new memories.
