Yes, you have cell phones. Good for you. I have one, too. However, if you must leave them on, it is not necessary to have your phone's volume cranked up to the highest possible volume, ensuring that everyone in the very large general vicinity will hear your phone.
In fact, after your phone has gone off at that rather loud volume more than once, you are ensuring that everyone who is studying in the very large general vicinity will want to BEAT YOU with their textbooks. Myself included. After dragging you out of the library (so that we won't disturb anybody else) and smashing your cell phone into itty bitty pieces, of course.
It's a library, for crying out loud. Put it on vibrate and in your pocket if you're that adamant about not missing a call.
