Plywood

I think I have an unhealthy relationship with lumber! haha When I was young, lumber was just that...wood, neither beautiful nor ugly, it just was. Once that I started working with it I began to see not only the utter beauty of appearance, but the marvel of its construction. For instance, when I visited the Palace of Arts in Budapest I was struck straightaway the use of north American (Canadian) alder used throughout the building. It was expertly crafted and finished in such a way to look like it had no finish at all. I lightly touched it with my fingers involuntarily started to salivate. The fact that we live in an area where alder trees abound is not lost on me. No alder trees on the La Center property, but they were abundant in Naselle. The speaker cabinets are made from what appears to be Baltic birch ply of the type not found in these parts until recently. The high ply count with no voids make it very strong and in many cases desireable for furniture construction. While the edges could be covered with veneer edging, I think that it has a stunning look
