Almost here!
I received an email from Speaker Hardware this morning informing me that the custom speaker cabinets that they were building for me are done! Hooray. He said that they were a bit more complicated than he expected, which was no surprise to me. The email was followed shortly by a notice from UPS that they were in the system and would be shipped soon. I am soooo excited. The speakers are completely custom designed specifically for a virtual pipe organ, Housed in two cabinets, each one contains 8 full range drivers and (get this) 8 subwoofers that are rated down to 8Hz. At that frequency they are probably inaudible but can definitely be felt. It has been a very long time to get to this point, but by Christmas I should have my 5 manual 144 rank virtual pipe organ up and running with a pair of high performance Visaton Grand Orgue speakers, a panel of studio monitors for the venue acoustic support all driven by 2 8kw/8 channel each amps. I'm gonna be having some serious fun. Pictures will come in a few days.
