Be the hand...

Our world can be a rough place in which to live. The industrialized countries have morphed to the extent that the sheer definition of humanity does not come even close to what was considered acceptable just a couple of generations ago. To be honest just trying to make this world better just because you were here is enough to push people over the edge. Think of it, we are each just 1 of 328 million people in the United States alone and 7.6 billion on the entire planet. What could we possibly do as an individual? Well thankfully we don't have to, but with our connected world what we do and how we do it can easily affect people we never knew existed. I made an innocent comment to a vendor that tripped his breaker. I am so very sorry that it happened, but I am more concerned about why it upset him so. I can't ask him, all I can do is try to figure it out which, sadly stands a great chance of coming to the wrong conclusions. This got me to thinking, how many people in this world are fighting private wars? Like a person with PTSD poiaed to lash out when some event pulls the trigger? All I can do is wish him well and hope that someone who knows him understands what is happening and offer a sounding board for him. After all, do not all of us in one way or another owe our successes to those who came before us and should hold a hand out to those who come behind us?
