BEST LINE OF THE DAY:
Tina and I were trying to guess who was going to be on the cover of Newsweek this week.
Tina: Oh, I know. It's going to be Charlton Heston.
Rob: Oh! That makes sense...they'd have updated for that.
Tina: I have to tell you, my usually dim-witted husband had a great line this weekend. When we were sitting around watching the news, we saw that Heston had died. Immediately, he turned to me and said "I guess we can get that gun now".
Rob: ....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THAT! DAMN IT! Good one, Mike.
"I GUESS WE CAN GET THAT GUN NOW!" LOVE IT.
I'm going to try hard this year to boycott the Olympics. Not watch them and not purchase anything from any place that is "The Official ______ of the 2008 Summer Olympics".
And it goes a TOUCH deeper than...uh....my basis disdain and boredom of the Olympics. I'm expressing my minor peraonal opinion that China should not be hosting the Olympics and profitting from the world view while it has the Dalai Lama exiled and is viciously oppressing the Tibetans (among other groups).
I don't know why I decided I care about this. It could be the natural empathy and respect I feel for the world's Buddhists. But I am offended by all the news I have read recently on the dealings in Tibet and how China is trying extra hard to stamp out their people before the spotlight starts shining too brightly.
Also, it gives me a reason to ignore the Olympics besides "ZZZzzzzzzz". Now I'm going to ignore their sponsors, too. Fear my extremely minor invisible influence!
