(no subject)
It's been a rough week at work. Not even for me, but for my co-workers. Heather has been in Kansas all week, donating bone marrow and blood to her cancer-ridden twin sister. Tina's step-nephew was found dead of a drug overdose the day after he graduated from Marine bootcamp. Pete's uncle died. And the high school that Joanne's son goes to was in lockdown after a student entered with a gun.
Before I found out [most of] those, I was already feeling down. Just kinda depressed. And then, you see all those things...It's hard to be alive some times. Some things just suck. I'm really, really close to Tina and Heather, too.
Other news items? Hmmm...
1) Seahawks are 9-4 and have clinched the NFC West for the 4th year in a row. In today's NFL, that's almost unheard of. I know that the NFC West hasn't always been...highly competitive...but four straight division wins (and 5 straight playoff appearances) is elite territory. Only the Patriots and Colts have as many consecutive pkayoff appearances as my 'Hawks. In the playoffs, anything can happen, but the NFC is frightening this year. The Packers, Cowboys, and Vikings all look strong and hot. The Giants are a winning team, too. The Bucs are a division winner with lots of leadership. Anything can happen, though...
2) I've been waiting for the movie Juno since FEBRUARY. I'm not even kidding. I have been following it through IMDb and Entertainment Weekly for months. It was advertised as being released on December 5th, and it WAS! ...In New York and Los Angeles. Rar. I just want to see my new favorite movie. Ellen Page, Jason Bateman, Rainn Wilson, JK Simmons, and Michael Cera (I'm wanting you to wash the horrible taste of Superbad out of my head, George-Michael Bluth!).
3) I STARTED MY NOVEL SERIES. I STARTED MY NOVEL SERIES. I STARTED MY NOVEL SERIES. Finally. I have conquered procrastination and gotten up to 3 pages. It's not too bad. When Chapter 1 is finished, I'm going to post a teaser here and at Facebook to get feedback. I want to know what everyone thinks before I progress.
4) I have a new icon. Enjoy.
