[Phone]

[It's Naze's usual raspy voice chiming in over the phone, chiming in during the late afternoon now that people have seen what's going on]Interesting. So the town thinks we'll be satisfied with these kinds of replacements? They're honestly disgusting... but at least more convincing than the usual drones. I'm curious as to what makes them ( Read more... )

... Oh. That certainly sounds entertaining. Really. But... Well, then again, I have a feeling you might not regret it otherwise.

This isn't about entertainment, it's about science

Then tell me this: what results could you possibly achieve from testing on quite frankly ordinary human beings, people you probably already have opened apart, Naze?

[If only they were drones. If only they were replacements sent by the town. As much as they irritate her, though, the truth is quite the opposite and she realized that a while ago.]

I'd hardly call them ordinary. Frankly, the remind me a bit of the Minuses from back home... disgusting.

What if it was all just an illusion? I guarantee that you won't find anything of value no matter how much you pried them open.

... Very well. But I've told you that nothing in this town has changed. It's just that our sentiments are being manipulated by the town to turn against them. To believe they are no longer friends and family.

It wasn't. I have nothing left to sacrifice anyway, including my existence.

And be that as it may. I believe I'm quite correct on this matter. ... Oh. Would you care for a wager?

Are you sure? You have a lot to gain from this. Well, all right, then I suppose I'll make the first offer. If by the end of the month, you're able to show some result from your findings, then you may cut me apart as you'd like.

There's no way a girl like you wouldn't be tempted to examine more closely a human turned God, which is certainly far more worthwhile than mere drones.

...that is tempting.

So what's the catch? A wager has to have two sides.
