You don't actually have anon on, like your post says you do, so I hope you'll pardon the sock account.

I have some real concerns with the way you play Dick and since you seem like a very friendly person who would be the type that wants to improve, I'm hoping you'll take my perspective on things into account.

The first thing I want to address is his intro post at sirenspull. I know that intro posts usually have a bit of awkwardness about them, as it's a new muse at a new game, but there were some things that really stuck out at me about the threads in it. Addressing the post itself, I find it really interesting that Dick asks an open network about getting to a station for his information. He's a detective, and even if he wasn't, he's just been presented with an open network and over a year's worth of posts on it. Even if this were an act for his secret ID, (which I have my doubts about since he almost blew both his cover and Clark's when he told Clark that he knew him on an unencrypted thread, which is just a little suspect to people watching, especially all the non-savory types from Gotham) he should've known that the other Bats were around and should've gone to them with his questions. It wouldn't take much at all to find Bruce Wayne's face plastered all over the NVs.

There's one thing I'm kind of scratching my head at too, and you may have an explanation for this, and that's Dick's wanting to join the police force right off the bat. (Pun not intended.) It's obvious that he doesn't know much about this place at all, he has no idea who's there... and joining the force is his first thought? When he was a cop in Blüdhaven, it was something that yes, he enjoyed, but it also ran him ragged quite a bit at times and there's a reason he never went back to a police job after everything with Tarantula faded into the background and Blüdhaven got nuked. Ignoring those reasons, though, Dick's still Batman which means he has a huge amount of responsibility especially since Damian's around. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have time for more than a part-time job because of Bat stuff and Damian who is, let's be honest, a handful who would resent looking after, but definitely needs it.

Another thing that really worries me was his conversation with Bruce. He seems a little too cavalier at first. Dick still sees Bruce as the big man in charge sometimes, especially with Batman Inc. being around, so I feel like that conversation should've been a lot more business with Dick's humor worked in smoothy instead of just jokes that really don't sound like something Dick would say. I can't exactly put my finger on what it is about them that sounds so off, but there is something that made me frown when I was reading it. I think it's the fact that they're slightly juvenile in nature and, yes, Dick makes really, really bad jokes from time to time. But this just sounds like he's a teenager again. In fact, if I hadn't known that this was current continuity Dick Grayson, his jokes coupled with the text smilies would've made me think this was ASBaR Dick Grayson.

His conversation with Damian is interesting to me, too. Damian's very obviously been around longer than Dick has, in a strange alternate dimension that's filled with dangerous monsters at night that Damian has no doubt been hunting... and instead of being concerned big brother with a little bit of ribbing, Dick again goes to that juvenile sense of humor. And for the second time he dismisses something (checking the network and doing some investigating like Bruce trained him to do) with little more than a, "Sure, I'll do it later." Which is very worrying for someone who is insisting (and rightly so) on staying Batman for Damian's sake.

There's a few more things I've seen around places like dear_mun that have made me frown a little worriedly as well. Namely his flirting with his brothers which is something he wouldn't do. If you ship it, that's fine. But keep it to fanfiction. Without a hell of a lot of character development and quite possibly someone else shoving their attraction in his face, Dick wouldn't be able to think of his brothers as anything but that. Yes, he's a flirt, but he almost always keeps that to the ladies. The same goes for his joking about liking redheads. In fact, I'm fairly certain we really only see him do that around Kate and that's because she's a brick wall of "LOLNO."

I'm sorry if this is the sort of thing that comes off harsh, I really don't mean to me. I just care a lot about Dick as a character and want to see you play him well, and so I felt it was best if I pointed out some things that were bugging me as I stalked.

Sorry about that! I thought I had enabled it, but I must have enabled my other accounts but forgot this one. I thought I had turned Anon on! I'm really sorry about that.

To address the open network post. I was conscious of Dick knowing that the Batpeople would be around, but I felt like Dick would like to make an open post so he can try and establish knowing people off the bat and knowing about places such as the station, as he would assume that it would be a good place to start with a lot of knowledge and information. I was trying to establish Dick as the type of guy who wants to help work out and seems new to things. Also, I realized my mistake between Clark and him when Clark mun put the encryption, so I knew I messed up there! Thanks for bringing up though C: I sometimes forget that the Network can be backtracked to newcomers, so sometimes it slips my mind. I'll be sure to keep more in mind about it. Sorry!

I guess by having Dick want to be on the force as soon as possible was me thinking that he'd want to try and get a day job while finding a suitable job that puts him in a spot where he can get a lot of talk about any of the corruption or anything that might be going around. In hindsight, I hadn't taken into account how many hours he'd be working on the force while still juggling Batman. I was relying on the facts that Dick isn't the only Cape in the town who'd be willing to patrol in their alter-ego. I'm sorry about this tidbit though, but seeing as I've already talked about it in my intro post, I'll have to find a compromise for him to be able to work the force while still having plenty of time for Damian. Or finding an IC reason for him to change his mind after talking about it.

I'll try harder to pull the humour out! Sometimes I don't realize I might be laying it on thick, and I guess that playing in other games, I forget to make clean slates so I pull over more laidback conversations to new games without realizing it. I'll be sure to make him less juvenile. I have realized at some points that I make him far too jovial and silly at times, so an anon source confirming it is very helpful. Thank you.

Ahh about the later part. I meant it to be hinted that he'd do it after finishing conversation with Damian, not that he'd just toss it off as an afterthought. I'm sorry it seemed like he didn't take it seriously!

As for D_M posts. I think the only time I've had him flirt is with my friends who play them. I do follow D_M posts of other people, but otherwise I stick to my friends who play castmates, and we usually establish that we like similar pairings. Otherwise, I don't usually have him flirt with muns I don't particularly know or who ships that pairing.

Thank you for the crit though. I'm sorry I haven't been playing him as well you would want me to, so I'll try my best to improve on these points!

Also, I don't want to seem like I'm brushing any crit off! I'm just commenting on how I viewed that situation.

I will still be paying close attention to fixing anything you've mentioned and try fixing any of those problems.
