JESSICA DREW
I have so many plans and thoughts on this lady they overflow, I don't know where to begin, jeez. Okay, so in the near future Rapture plot is coming up, and I've signed her up to knock out Jack, which will be good times. Because, obviously, his growth was accelerated and then they programmed him and now he's a superpowered weapon, basically, which is what the intent was when they made Jess, they just never got to the part where they wiped her brain because Gwen Stacy turned into Carnage and wrecked their shit. So she'll have Views on all that, and on the Little Sisters as well, since they exist in a similar kind of state.
So she'll be tremendously upset when he dies and then a bunch of them do, and I think I also want to put her in the clinic at the end of the plot. And have someone find out her secret identity, too, since she'll be down there in a costume and a masquerade mask, kind of hoping people assume she's a less crazy splicer and don't connect her with the surface folks, something along those lines. But I need to figure out the hows of all this; at one stage I was thinking she gets drowned and someone has to give her mouth to mouth, but the when of that is tricky. Unless after Jack dies she goes back in and seals herself somewhere, maybe to hold back Splicers that are threatening others, and it floods? Or, possibly before she knocks out Jack he would you kindly beats the crap out of her -- Tracey, we should discuss! -- and that's where the injuries come from and once she gets to the Bathysphere with that group she passes out and someone unmasks her to check her health?
Need to figure out who is getting in on the identity, really, and then work on that. Could be people she knows, or random health professional, combination, but not like... lots of people, one or two or a few at very most. And enough injuries to keep her in the clinic for a while. Which may raise suspicions, especially Chase's which will work into the plot which is shaping up with that.
Then there's Doc Ock's death to find out about by reel, which will also cause Feelings, since she hates that dude more than anyone in the whole damned world, but will still feel really strange about Osborn beating him to death. Maybe while she's injured, or maybe I'll wait on that.
And then, and then, SPOILERS FOR USM 160 FOLLOW, at some stage she's got to find out that Peter, the Peter from her world, the guy she is a clone of, dies. And if you know me and Nix at all you may be able to work out what her item is going to be. But even further down the line, a lot down the line. Probably after she finds out more stuff, like that Reed Richards is evil now, that she's in SHIELD and that she joins the Ultimates. (Looking forward to Hickman writing the Ultimates -- with Jess on the team! With Thor and Iron Man and everyone! -- so much, he's been great on FF, and he writes a good Spidey there, too, so I have hopes.)
Which will be interesting, on the identity note, because those guys are mostly public. And in Ultimateverse 'Spider-Woman is Jessica Drew' doesn't tie back to anyone, it doesn't lead to May, she has no one to protect with that, so maybe she'll be open. But on the island, protecting her identity helps protect Peter's, and she does have people, and it's a bit of a thing. Not as much as Peter's, but enough to keep her cagey.
In other news, the confused sexuality stuff is coming into play, sort of a very little because she can still mostly avoid it, but it does cause some awkward conversations, thank you Maxxie I adore you, you're so helpful. But anything on that front beyond maybe admitting to people 'yeah I have no idea' is probably down the line, because someone would probably have to put the moves on her, and then she'd be weird about it, level of weirdness dependant on who it is. I will probably continue to assume that the Johnny Thing was him kissing her and her freezing (since we never actually SEE what happens; I thought the other day that it would be hilarious if she just told Johnny to tell Peter they totally made out, but I can't operate on that without actually knowing it's so, even if... she would, but it's assuming too much). But yeah, if any ladies or gents get interested, we'll see how it develops, that can pace itself.
What else. Have to fit in a trying to catch a boar post soon, before the Rapture stuff. She'll make a trap, it'll be fun. Olive's party should be fun, truth or dare was a blast, more of that always, her with teenagers of all stripes and indeed adults of all stripes is great times. She may start trying to convince people not to do drugs, she is a squircle. (Peter Parker is a square, Jess is Peter Parker with curves. Except she protests, she is her own person, although I feel she projects more security than she actually has in canon, so striking a balance with that can be tricky; she'd certainly think about it all the time. I just digressed in a parenthesis explaining a joke. Oops.)
But, that reminds me, for age/sexswitch she will be the boy she remembers being, and it will screw with her head so much, she will have a minor breakdown to start with, it'll be great.
That is... lots, that is probably enough for now.
TONY STARK
First of all, just discovered
this, two great tastes that taste great together. Anyway, less... well, anything would be less than that mess up there. Couple of plots in the works for Tony, an Avengers-related thing going down in Rapture, and a more science team related thing which is on the quiet for now, but which I need to get on top of, since it will be good times and set up further things down the line; the Avengers thing sets up their potential as a team, establishes a little bit of respect there, and the other one sets them up to bring Chase along on the thing I'm planning for January, and continues his joint mentorship thing.
General awkwardness with people from other worlds abounds! Steve, mostly, very much so, he's being kind of... dismissive, because he expects to be dismissed and because it's what Tony does, he attends to so much in his head at any one time that he doesn't necessarily appear to be attending to the person right next to. To be fair, much of the time he isn't.
Is in... a stable relationship, still, is not drinking, still, is bewildered at these facts, still. And is sort of the more responsible one in the Peter-Tony dynamic in some ways, contributing to keeping that guy on the rails or close to the rails or something. Not... a role he is comfortable with, but that's the beauty of it, that's why it's good stuff. In addition to the plotty things, have a couple of inventions to submit, and also must remember to find out about getting him classes at the school, he wishes to add some physics (beyond what's there) and engineering to the curriculum. Well, wishes is a strong word, but he's gonna, assuming he can. And then next election I may try to get him elected, fun times.
ARYA STARK
Yeah, just because I can, WHAT OF IT.
So apart from that tiny urge to drop and re-app to have Maisie as PB -- I'll just ageswitch her, instead -- things are, well, she has no idea what she's doing, it's great, she doesn't know what she wants to do, poor confused teenage lass. Met Cook at the casino night, I hope for disastrously fun things, I wish for him to be a terrible influence, yes indeed. Need to work on the Arya Underfoot factor, she should be up in people's island businesses much more, just seeing what's to be seen and gossiping, she collects it.
The question of what she should be is tricky, though, Which, it's meant to be. She won't join the IPD or ITF, because she doesn't want to be a soldier and police work... maybe, but she's not that down. Work at the vet clinic, maybe, it'd tie into the horses, or the Lady's Adventuring School I still find a hilarious option. Should take some new water dancing students, she hasn't made anyone chase a monkey in ages. Although it'd make her sad, with Veronica gone.
And maybe there'll be an influx of ASOIAF pups, if maybe not like the glory days of twenty-odd of those fuckers, including ALL THE STARKS, we used to have the whole set. D: Petyr will be interesting, since... he's just that guy from court to her, she has no idea about any of his stuff. A Jon -- or any siblings -- would be weird, since... she'll be older than they are. SO WEIRD.
SPIKE SPIEGEL
Oh, Spike. Sort of wants to deal with Faye but isn't equipped to have any kind of talk that isn't 'weird and cryptic and evasive,' so he just kind of dances around it and then swans off, so I probably am going to have to put together the Real Timeloop Blues so that he can square himself with Faye and even Ed, since, well, he needs to. He wouldn't admit it. But he does have that talk with Jet right after they leave that implies that part of the 'kids pets and pushy women' thing is because they leave and that is sad, Spike you partly secret romantic goober. (It is also because they are annoying. He is complex but maybe not that complex. ...okay, that complex. But also that simple.)
Rogue will eventually hopefully be... less crazy, that'll be interesting, he won't be sure what to do with that, either. When she's half nuts it keeps it from being a standard relationship, which works well for him even if he worries, since he's only ever afraid for other people, on the very seldom occasions he feels the emotion.
Will finish his boat soon, I think. And then it will probably hilariously sink in only a few feet of water the first time out.
WOLVERINE
Poor grumpy man. The thing about Wolverine is that he can't bring himself to settle down because he doesn't believe he deserves peace. Usually, there's enough people around him who agree and are thus trying to beat the shit out of him -- it's the subject of the currect arc in the latest solo series, in fact, that an entire secret organization has sprung up of people whose family he killed in the Bad Old Days, dedicated to ruining his life since they've realized they can't kill him -- that he gets his wish, but here he has nothing but murdering food for people to eat and doing drills.
So he'll enjoy Rapture, down with the ITF and maybe the X-Men if they have a thing. Maybe the Avengers, if I decide to have him along for all of them in a nod to canon, since... he's in all the teams!
Should start item-ing him, for the extra grump factor. He'll never see the place as other than a prison, most like, so he's settled in to wait until he can stab something. Probably keeping a watchful eye on Madelyne, someone possibly will need to have told him not to march up to her and say 'one false move and it's snikt' since... he would, he is not tactful.
WILLIAM DE WORDE
Man, remember when William was basically my primary pup, in combo with Arya? Weird times, in the age of Jess and Tony. Some more milestones to post with Olivia, of course, and he may quiz a bunch of people about Rapture, and really... just... more talking to people about things that are happening, really, I need to stop just busting him out for the speeches. Journalism always!
Especially because then the speeches will be less stressful? Esp. if Clark gets enlisted for the next set, because they are fun but, yes, stressful. Just need to remember that when plots go down I should bug people for interview threads even if I don't technically need the quotes for a paper, because the paper still comes out.
ps the paper still comes out, that didn't stop being a thing, every two months there is a paper full of events that happened, back issues are available, he has independent island records!!
And more mentioning what was in certain issues in my pups' posts, I think that works fairly well. It's not... actual papers, that was always good times, seeing that flow into posts, but, so much work, no time for it, continual sadcakes.
...and no gif for Keith Mars because he is probably not long for the island, I realized that as much as I dig having someone in the middle of crime plots and talking stern-like to kids, actual personal development is suffering and I don't really want to play him in the wake of devastating loss of the kind he has suffered, so I'll do some IPD sorting and then... let the mods know what his recommendations on replacements would be, I guess? SHERIFF ELECTION no, nah, I'll just find out who his replacement would be given those recs and willing mun and pass on worldly IPD running advice, such as 'update the partners thing more than I did' and 'there is no crime, lol in-joke.'
