title: Did they warn you, better shape up if you want to succeed?
Continued from here

The body had been transported from the site back to the Sanctuary in London. Declan had prepared a clean room for her and Helen scrubbed down. Glasses, apron, gloves, and of course the tools that went along with a proper autopsy. She had a microphone attached to her ear in order to record the details of the autopsy. Just in case there was something they would need later.

"Find anything?" Declan asked from the other side of the window.

Helen gave a half shrug. "It seems as if the two conditions did not happen simultaneously. The creature, whatever it is, attacked with the claws first - accounting for the lacerations. After the initial attack was made, the skin itself started to burn away. From second to fourth degree burns all over his body. Of course that still doesn't account for the reason why he's as black as charcoal."

Declan shifted slightly. "Perhaps an elemental? We know they're in more of abundance around the UK than they are in America."

"It's possible..." Helen said. "Though it still doesn't account for the claw marks. I haven't seen an elemental be able to take a physical forum and then back to it's pure state so quickly." She paused, her hands on either side of a incision she made across the chest. "Have you found anything about that girl that was on the site?"

"Do you think there's a connection?"

"I think she might know more than us." Helen looked up at Declan with her eyebrows raised.

Declan nodded. "I talked to one of the DCIs. Among the colorful language was the suggestion that she's there on the oddball cases, as he put it. Apparently she doesn't always get away clean."

Helen looked back down at the charred body. She reached up and took the microphone off and reached for the Bluetooth headset. She shared a glance up at Declan before dialing the number and asking for the DCI. It took a few more moments before he picked up the phone. "Hello, I am sorry to bother you... this is Dr. Helen Magnus."

"Ma'am!" the DCI said. "Something wrong?"

"Well, I was wondering if I could bother you as for a further inquiry about a certain young woman that was at the scene today." She glanced up at Declan again as she continued to look around at the body. "She gave me the name of Alice Smith... though I doubt that is her real name."

"The kid's name is Sally Sparrow, been a pain in the ass around here for a while if you pardon my french. Came in here about three years ago with some crack story about her friend disappearing into thin air, hasn't stopped getting in my hair since. Thrown the morbid little freak out of six crime scenes, never know how she gets in but she does. Is she bothering you m'am? Give me an excuse to nail her on trespassing and I will..."

Helen laughed a bit. "I don't think that much will be necessary, sir. Just an address in case I need to speak to this Sally Sparrow myself." With a nod to Declan, the Head of House left in order to do a background check. One that was more thorough than the police would know of. "Thank you for your time, sir."
