[Christine had been effectively holed up in the Phantom's room for almost a week. She had missed Raoul's outburst the day of her arrival after he found her missing and had not left the room for any extended period of time without the accompanying presence of her Master. She had gotten a rough guided tour of the ship and explanations that the other

[To be fair... Erik probably doesn't know about the other Christine. Or the fact that he's actually Erik 2.0. But Erik seems to have covered the basics well enough, and it's not like Raoul really cares enough about boat happenings to bother explaining them any further than that.

She would start there, wouldn't she? He hesitates a moment, considering how much to tell her and how to say it.]

He wouldn't have known, even if you did ask him.

It's been nearly half a year since I arrived here. They're a... side effect from having been here so long.

[His eyes move away from hers for a second. You know what, there's no point in lying or keeping things from her. That's what Erik does.]

Christine, death isn't permanent here. If you die, there is a system that revives you, and you awake in your room a day later. It becomes less reliable the more often you come back, and things like this happen.

[He gestures towards his eyes for emphasis. Please don't ask how many times or why he's died so often. He'd be more than happy to explain the first one, less than enthused on the second, and he'll need a lot of coaxing on the third.]

[Well, it's a small concession re: past Chrissies and Eriks, so Christine'll give him leeway on that. She would like you to know that she didn't mean to jump right onto a heavy subject .. it was just one that she certainly wanted to know about!

As it is, she watches as he hesitates briefly and worries that she;s asked him something he cannot answer. Her thumb moves over his hand and a gentle sweep and then he is speaking. Her brows knit at the first; not that Erik wouldn't know, but that Raoul has been here nearly half a year.]

Half a year .. but, Raoul I saw you just the night before I arrived. I don't know how that is possib- .. but then, I've spoken to a robot from another world .. It seems anything is possible here..

[She trails off quietly, not finishing her words as she looks back at Raoul. He's looking away from her and she can't help herself. She leans forward and touches her free hand to his cheek, bringing his attention and gaze back to her. And then her eyes widen and her hand moves to cover her mouth to at least dim her horror.]

Raoul!! [Her hand stretches out again to touch his face as she ducks a bit to make certain he is looking at her.] You've died?! Oh, my darling ..

[Her eyes are so, so sad as her fingers caress his cheek. Her poor beloved had been in this place for half a year and died while he was at it!]

Oh, love .. I had no idea .. I'm sorry..

Time works differently here.

[The solid black does make it a bit difficult to tell exactly where he's looking, doesn't it? He leans into that hand and closes his eyes. The last Christine had been so distant compared to this one. He'd missed the affection and endearments.]

It's alright. What's done is done.

[Okay, time to distract from that note with something he had been wondering. Eyes open now, he reaches for the hand on his face to still it.]

What's the last thing you remember before coming here?

[Christine listens silently as Raoul tells her that time works differently on this ship. It's hardly surprising knowing that this one more thing is different and strange, but it's not comforting in the least. She really does wish she could take away all his hurt and pain. The fog of the Phantom's hold was clear from her mind at the moment and she actually saw how wary he was. She hates seeing him this way ..

He leans into her hand and she raises the other to cup his opposite cheek, holding his face gently in her palms. She'd have kicked that other Christine, if she could have. B| ]

Would that I could undo it just as easily..

[Her words are soft and tender and then he's looking up at her again and instead of allowing her to pull her hand away, his rests atop hers. It's a comforting gesture, and one she hadn't realized she'd missed SO much until it's there again. She offers him a soft smile, not looking away from the blackness of his eyes or finding anything remotely fearful about it anymore. This was still her Raoul and his eye color would not change that! She replies without pause.]

We were on the rooftop of the opera house ..

[Is that a blush that's beginning to darken her fair features .. mmhmm .. yeah, it is.]

We .. [More blushing and a quick darting away of her gaze before it's back to his again.] We kissed .. and you promised you would care for me .. It was the night of Il Muto .. I returned to my room and the next morning I was here ..

[There's still a lingering doubt in the back of his mind, but right now, Christine feels right. She's just as he remembers her from before the M.S. Elegante.

Aww, that blush is adorable, and he smiles in return.]

I remember that.

[And... all the other stuff that night, but mostly the tonsil-diving. That was some damn good tonsil-diving. The seriousness of the situation reappears in his expression with his next words.]

I came from some time after that, in January.

[Unlike things that happened on the boat, the things that happen back in France aren't so crucial to know, so he decides to leave them for another time... except for one thing.]

We were engaged on New Years Eve.

[Commentlog] *Anything for you, bb! Maybe we can use your sexy new icon sometime!!!*

[She's not sure what he'll remember, IF he'll remember any of it, but then he's smiling and her world both brightens and narrows. She hadn't realized how much she missed that smile, that warmth in his eyes and lips, until he showed it to her again.]

Oh, Raoul..

[And then the smile is gone and he appears almost grim and she searches his face for some hint. When he says that he is from a time past where she comes from, she blanches. What if? What if she was dead?! What if that was why he was so horribly somber! The thought is a terrifying one and she sits up a bit straighter, though her hands do not leave his face. She'd not give up that physical connection for all the world.]

But .. that's .. [Impossible? Improbable? She could say anything similar and that wouldn't discount the fact that he was telling her the truth. And then he continues, watching her as he speaks, and her eyes widen as one hand does finally leave his cheek to cover her mouth.]

E-engaged?!

[Her heart flutters and she feels herself flushing down her neck and she looks down, tummy flip-flopping every which way. Engaged! Raoul had asked her for her hand just a few weeks after their time on the roof of the opera house. God, what a thing to learn this way .. She turns bright eyes to him, expression a bit hesitant beneath the quite obvious 'happy'.]

What .. does that mean that .. [She is blushing again, looking down from him as both of her hands leave his face to bunch up a handful of her dress material. She felt foolish and much the school girl (durrhuur, you're 16 Chrissie), but couldn't help herself..]

Does that mean that we are, Raoul? [And MORE blushing, if it were at all possible!!]

[He was going to mention that the Phantom is probably from around her time, if not before, but you know, it doesn't really matter anymore. The way she lights up and is just so happy at the idea of them being engaged pushes everything else from his mind.]

We... we could be, if you want it.

[The fear he had that 'if the last Christine would leave him for someone else then this one might too' vanishes. If they're engaged again, then she can't leave him, right? And the hell if it's going to be a secret engagement like last time not that they were really hiding it all that well. But wait, this proposal is missing something important.]

Oh, Christine, I don't-- I need to find another ring.

[A big damn ring. Lots of them, so he'll have spares if Erik steals it again like the jerkface he is.]

[It's probably just as well to not bring up the Phantom while we're talking about getting engaged, Raoul. But, you're happy that she's happy and that's a great step! Look at all the smiling that's happening now! her eyes widen a bit at your words, blush never fading from her cheeks. She can't help but smile at him, little dimples appearing at the corners of her mouth. She had thought of the possibility of engagement to Raoul, but he'd never asked. Now, in a whirlwind of events, it was happening!]

Well, I suppose it depends if you want it too .. I mean .. [Oh, my, what a lovely hue her cheeks can turn! She doesn't know where his thoughts are, and at the moment she doesn't care. She loves him and has for many years. Their time together has only proven the fact all the more in her eyes, even if they had not seen each other since their early childhoods.

Her smile slips the slightest as he begins to speak and she giggles softly, shaking her head as she reaches to take hold of his hands.]

Raoul .. I love you.

[She was certain he'd find something for her, but she couldn't care less at the moment. She loved him and was engaged to him and felt like flying!]

A ring won't change the fact that I love you and that being your wife would be a dream come true.

[Ahh, happiness that cannot last! Let them at least enjoy it for now!]

Of course I do.

[He grips her hands for a moment while she speaks, but then he lets go. Instead, he leans forward and pulls her into an almost desperate embrace. The previous Christine had cut him so deeply and it had hurt for so long. To finally have her back is such a great relief.]

I've missed you so much.

[Screw that, someone would have to pry this happiness out of Raoul's cold lifeless fingers-- which is actually pretty likely, considering who'll take offense to the renewed engagement.]

[Christine waits with baited breath, her flush dark across her cheeks, uncertain if Raoul wants to be engaged to her. He was from a different time than she was, after all. He might not want to involve himself with her in that ..

Her eyes close halfway as her smile beams at him, voltage equaling that of the sun. She makes a soft sound of surprise as he reaches for her, pulling her tightly into his arms. Her eyes close as his arms move around her, her own encircling him as she clings back tightly, nose burying in against his neck.]

I'm so sorry to have worried you, Raoul..

[Oh, Erik was certain to screw it up at some point, but golly she was happier than anything right now! It felt so _right_ being with Raoul. He would love her. He would protect her. She was safe.]

[Commentlog] *fails again :/ *

[Yeah, Raoul's just... gonna stay there for a little while. It's soothing to be able to hold her this intimately again, to breath in her scent and feel her warm weight pressed against him. The most important part, though, is feeling her cling back with the same fervor, the love that was missing with the other Christine.]

I won't let you go again. I swear it.

[That may or may not have been a literal statement.]

[Christine isn't going to make him let her go, that I can assure you. She is practically wrapped around him, clinging to his shirt in fisted hands and surrounding herself with him as much as she possibly can. To feel his arms wrapped around her seems to set the world to rights again and she shivers.]

I'd not let you and you would be hard pressed enough to get me to let you go.

[She is still holding tightly to him when she speaks again, the problem of a place to stay still entirely real.]

Raoul .. I have not heard from anyone amongst the crew .. I cannot access my room to retrieve my keycard or communicator. May .. May I stay with you?

[Raoul's totally fine with that. He shifts to a more comfortable position, only loosening his grip for a moment before pulling her close again and running a hand up and down her back.]

Of course you may.

[Right now, having Christine near him and in his living space sounds awesome. They can think about how awkward it might be later when reality kicks in again.]

[Raoul shifts and there is a moment that she believes that he is pulling away, but it is only to adjust his position. She sighs softly in contentment as his hand drifts along her back, the motion touch and motion comforting. Her eyes are closed, her cheek resting against his shoulder as she snuggles in quite happily.

How was it possible that she had forgotten how nice this felt? How was it possible that she could ever forget something this wonderful? Had her mind been so clouded? Her thoughts turn back to her fiance as he speaks again, a smile curling her lips as her eyes open halfway.]

Thank you, Raoul ..

[Awkward .. oh yes. Without a question. She's not going to have a communicator or a room key again until she dies the first time, unless a crew member assists her. and OH SNAPS! I just thought of something .. She's going to get a ring, and then she'll die at some point and the ring'll be lost. Irony would have it ending up in Erik's possession. y/n/stfu Alma? ]

[And so they chilled there for a while? idk where this can go besides a timeskip to a bit later where they do more stuff, like getting her settled in Raoul's room.

[OOC: I can't see much else needing to be done unless we want to timeskip .. biggest concern is will Raoul always be shadowing her, or will he leave her alone with his comm on occasion? I know she'll be using Raoul's (or other) comms until she dies/gets back into her room..

And YAY! I thought it was a fitting sort of thing to happen on the fail boat, lol!]
