[Christine had been effectively holed up in the Phantom's room for almost a week. She had missed
Raoul's outburst the day of her arrival after he found her missing and had not left the room for any extended period of time without the accompanying presence of her Master. She had gotten a rough guided tour of the ship and explanations that the other

No .. No, I was not concerned about such, honestly. I have a safe place to spend my days and evenings as any other I might hope to have. Raoul would be number two, but fffffff, that took a swing on her arrival .. maybe?
[She then listens as the woman's voice continues over the communicator, her head tilting slightly.]
You are quite wise .. You seem to put to words so easily the human condition ..
[And after the encounters she has already had on board this ship, she can't help but wonder if the person on the other end of the communication isn't human at all. Her Angel had lead her to believe there were far worse things than what she had already encountered.]
I'm uncertain, but I .. I cannot let fear guide me .. It already has for so, so long ..

I speak from observation, not experience. Humans are extremly fickle creatures, very emotional. They tend to be ruled by said emotions when sometimes it would be best to listen to reason. I do not have such emotions.
[Or so she thinks, anyway.]

Yes..I am safe. [Or was she? One never knew for sure where Erik was concerned, but he was taking care of her well enough as of now. I do not believe I am in any immediate danger. [Silly Christine. There are any number of people that would argue this fact with you quite vocally!! She listens with interest as the voice continues, frowning slightly. She is reminded strongly of Ironhide as the voice refers to humans as if it is not one.
You are not human then? [Well, bully for her! Christine doesn't sound terrified about this discovery anymore. However she is now picturing Zee as a giant female version of Ironhide. Terribly sorry about that!

[She's not going to go bust Christine out of prison Erik's room, but she would like a general idea as to the situation at hand.]
No. I am a battle droid, manufactured specifically for combat. I resemble an organic female, however.

I am certain. [And then there's that question and she falls silent, looking at the communicator for several moments before speaking again. Her voice is soft and apologetic.] I .. I cannot tell you that .. I am sorry.. It would be unsafe for my Angel and I'd not put him in any sort of danger.
[She frowns at the designation that Zee gives herself, not having ever heard of a battle droid before. The idea that something inhuman could look human is both frightening and fascinating.]
I have .. I have never heard of such before .. Do you have a name?

Your Angel. [If only Zee knew how to inflect skepticism into her voice. It's actually probably better that she doesn't, at this point anyway.]
That is an interesting term for you to place upon someone - and a precarious position that it seems you have come into. I do not like it. [Not one bit.]
It seems as though few on board this vessel have heard of a unit like myself. My serial number is long and cumbersome for organics to remember, so you may call me Zee. What is your desig- [No, that's wrong.]
What is your name?

He has cared for me since I was seven years old .. my tutor in music .. my guardian and friend .. I'm sorry .. Would that I could tell you where I am, but I cannot .. [She sounds genuinely sorry that she can't, not having wanted to upset anyone at all with her communication. She listens in silence as the voice identifies itself as 'Zee' and the explanation makes Christine smile lightly.]
I shall take your word for it and Zee it shall be. [The smile is audible in her voice.] My name is Christine Daaé .. it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Christine. It is a please.

I am sorry. [And truthfully, she sounds it. But the last brings a slight smile to her lips as Zee doesn't quite get the sentence correct. When she corrects the term, her tone is not mocking, but polite. Perhaps there are just terms and phrases she doesn't know yet.]
A 'pleasure'.

Pleasure.
[She repeats the phrase carefully. She hadn't properly met many people, so many things are lost in translation. She'd nearly asked Christine her 'designation', after all.]

Oh, God .. I'm sorry! That was terribly rude of me, wasn't it?! I .. I didn't mean for it to be at all rude, if it was. I merely thought .. I just didn't want you to say it incorrectly ..
[She's just a bit out of sorts .. she is enjoying her conversation, but would hate for Zee to take something rudely when she is simply meaning to help. See, these are those emotions I was talking about. ANGST ridden!]

Not presumptuous. My language packs come with infinite phrases and information, but not how to communicate like this.
[Goodness Zee is glad she doesn't have to deal with these.
Still though - she was going to have to update her software somehow. She couldn't go around making errors like that, now could she?]

I .. I'm glad .. It was not at all my intention to say something or correct you where it is not needed or wanted.
[And with Zee's next words, Christine sits up a bit straighter, an idea forming.]
I'm uncertain if you wish it .. but, I could .. I could help you. Perhaps assist you if you need it with terms or their usage .. I'm not particularly doing much here .. And if it would be helpful I would be more than willing and happy to oblige you.
[She waits, uncertain if the woman will accept her offer. She was, after all, just sixteen and likely younger than a good number of persons on this vessel. Let alone from a time period from far earlier on than many of them..]

[There was a droid built for EVERYTHING back home.]

Software? Like .. clothing?
[And then a slight widening of her eyes as Zee says that she is for combat.]
Combat? You were made to fight? [It's more than a little bit surreal. Another knitting of the brows.] Are .. are you a droid? I do not mean to sound foolish .. I am only curious .. we do not have things such as you in my home.

[Zee's tone is slightly modulated. She's trying out this 'voice inflection' thing.]
I was built for combat, yes. My technical classification would be 'battle droid', considering there are many other types of robotic mechanisms like myself where I come from.
