002 - Chrissie is bored [Audio: English] OPEN

Sep 29, 2010 10:35

[Christine had been effectively holed up in the Phantom's room for almost a week. She had missed Raoul's outburst the day of her arrival after he found her missing and had not left the room for any extended period of time without the accompanying presence of her Master. She had gotten a rough guided tour of the ship and explanations that the other ( Read more... )

Christine?

[Hi, remember him? Frantic boyfriend? Been looking for you for a week and somehow kept missing you?]

Where are you?

[There is a familiar voice that Christine both hoped she would heat and hoped she would not. She sucks in a soft breath, exhaling in an almost trembling manner as she stares at Erik's comm unit. She finally lifts it again to her lips, unable to help herlself. She might not understand his actions, but she still loved him. That's why it had hurt so badly when he just left her to fend for herself. Her words are soft and nearly tentative.]

Raoul?

[She closes her eyes and begins again.]

I'm safe, Raoul.. My Angel .. he found me and has been keeping me safe. He told me about this place..

[Another pause of silence and the next words that follow are in French and there is no hiding how emotionally laden.]

You left me .. I was so frightened and you left me..

[The sound of his hurried footsteps pauses for a moment.]

I know...

[Before the fear of Christine sets in again, he focuses on his stronger hate for the phantom.]

You're not safe. Tell me where you are and I will find you.

[She hears the sound of footfalls over the communicator line, head tilting slightly as she pauses to glance at the door of her Angel's room. He doesn't try to make any excuse for his behavior before and for that she is grateful. If he'd tried to spin the action off with some excuse, she was prepared to tear into him verbally .. or so she told herself.

In truth, she missed him, even if they had only been apart for a small time. She didn't know yet that they were from different slips of time or that she had been here (on the Elegante) once before, at least.

She steals herself and swallows, shaking her head.]

You don't understand, Raoul .. Monsieur Buguet .. My Angel, the Phantom .. he was not responsible. He did not kill him .. I do not believe everything is as it appears to be.

[She is grappling with either side, uncertain she can ever get him to believe it was all a misunderstanding. Raoul did not know the Phantom the way Christine did (even if he was well on his way, durrhurr).]

[He's not going to make his excuses until he has Christine in front of him and has worked up the courage to tell her.

If he had the time, he'd stop and either facepalm or bash his face against a wall. Dammit, Christine, why are you so gullible...]

I agree, it isn't as it appears to be. Christine, I need to speak with you in person. Where are you?

[PFFFFT.

You had to know Erik was all up in this conversation. Chrissie don't you dare tell Raoul where Erik's room is. Don't. You. Dare.]

Christine...

[She's that gullible because her dumb ass daddy wove a story about an 'angel of music' in a non-literal sense before he croaked it. And the AFTER he croaked it, a real one took her in under his wing. Who would'a thunk it?? As it were, she was wavering between not telling and telling when her Angel's voice sounds over the communicator, soft and lulling.]

Raoul ..

[Never, in all of Christine's nine years under his tutelage, had she ever given up his whereabouts. The only other person that knew specifically where she went was Madame Giry, and even the old instructor never spoke of what she knew. There was a trust there, far more than just teacher to student, and Christine knew in her very soul that she could not release that information.]

Raoul, I can't .. I'm sorry ..

[She wavers, by God does she waver, but she stays firm to the knowledge that she cannot .. CANNOT betray her Master in such a way. Her voice is tired and pleading as she continues onward, speaking to her childhood love.]I will meet you! I will come to your room? I .. ( ... )

[He actually cares less where Erik's room is and more about getting her out of it. He hesitates on her coming to his room for a second, but he remembers that Christine already gave out his room number over the comms, so Erik probably knows where it is anyway.]

Fine. I'll wait for you outside.

[Erik's a little pleased with himself. He can't help it. But the fact that Christine is leaving doesn't sit well with him. But because he's with Anna, Erik intends to keep his promise to her and will continue with her until her lesson concludes. Enjoy your time with Chrissie for now, Raoul. Because the minute Erik is able, he will be coming for her.]

[Christine lowers the communicator from her lips, glancing around the room that has been, in a sense, her home for the past week. She clicks off the audio feed and sets it back where she found it. She moves to take a quick glance of herself in the mirror before remembering that it is covered, and looks away with a small sigh.]

I'm sorry, Angel .. but I wouldn't have told him ..

[She turns and moves from the room, opening the doorway and glancing out into the hallway before moving out entirely. She pulls the door closed completely behind her, pausing for a moment to rest her palm against it. She then turns and makes her way down the hallway and to the stairs, being careful to keep track of her surroundings. She makes her way up one deck and turns to the right, moving in the direction of Raoul's room ( ... )

[By the time Christine arrives, Raoul has made his way back as well and is waiting impatiently. When she calls his name, he jerks towards her, obviously nervous. He's looking even worse than the first time she saw him. A week of fretting over her did him no good. There's relief in his expression, though it doesn't last long. He takes the offered hand and takes a step away from his door.]

Come with me.

[Christine is expecting a little bit more warmth from you then this Raoul. :| It's obvious to anyone passing by that he's not doing well and she feels no small amount of guilt at causing him any undue stress or grief. So sorry, bb! Her brows knit slightly as he takes her hand and does not pull her in close as she was expecting, but instead moves as if to lead her somewhere else.]

Raoul? Where are we going?

[She does not, however, fight him. She keeps pace with him as he walks, her brown eyes concerned and confused.]

Somewhere he can't follow us.

[Or, not without being spotted, at least. Did you like the flower deck, Chrissie? Because that's where he's going. He hopes Erik showed Christine the elevators, because he's just pushed the button for one. If she wants to question him, she'll have a moment before the elevator arrives and the while it takes them to get down to 12. Why does he have to be close to the elevator that doesn't go all the way down...]

[Christine walks with him, having to pick up her own pace to keep even with his. He's leading her toward the things she has learned are called 'elevators' and though she's been told about them she has regretably not been on one yet. Her Angel has preferred to take her by way of the staircases during her time with him (work them legs!) She is understandibly wary about a closed in box, lifted and lowered by a pair of cables she did not have control of.]

Raoul .. can't we just speak in your room?

[She eyes the doors warily as the lights above indicate the car is nearly at their level. Her stomach tightens and her fingers tighten around his as she clutches at his sleeve with her free hand.]

Raoul ..

[Yep, that's a bit of genuine fear on her part. She wasn't particularly 'excite' about traveling up or down floors in a metal box.]

[The elevator isn't Raoul's favorite mode of transportation either, but it is 6 decks of stairs they don't have to walk down, and he's pretty damn sure Erik can't follow them in an elevator.]

There's nothing to be afraid of.

[When the elevator *pings* and the doors slide open, Raoul moves to the side of the door, holding it open. If she really really doesn't want to go in the elevator, speak now or get in the metal box.]

Alright ..

[Fffffff She doesn't approve, but what other choice has she, really? She'll take him at his word, because he already seems upset enough without her protesting the mode of transportation. He steps into the metal box of death and holds the door for her to enter as well, and with an upset twisting of her stomach, she steps in behind him.

There is a bar around the entirety of the car and she makes note of it, moving to reclaim his hand as she stands next to him. Her eyes widen slightly as it *pings* again and the doors begin to close. Her eyes dart to his face, but when she sees that he reamins unphased she looks back again in time for it to shut. Their destination illuminates and she has a moment to marvel at that before the car shifts and she makes a small sound in the back of her throat, her hand on his arm.]
