The whole Father Kennedy situation.

Having spoken ages ago with catdraco, I kind of understand why they're doing what they're doing, in that he's not adhering to the churches strictures and very drastically veering off from what the church represents, but on the other hand, before I lost my faith, I was always taught, it's not the church that matters or even how you do it, it's the guy you're worshipping/praying to/believing in. So, wouldn't the threat of excommunication/disbarrment from preaching only serve to push him to start a new non-catholic church? I kinda understand that some people wouldn't want to sever from being a catholic in label and action, but wouldn't the others who are supporting Fr Kennedy be more than happy to do such if they're as passionate about what he's preaching as they seem to be?

I also see in both sides, "my church is right, not yours", and a whole lack of "hey, it's the same guy(s) in the end!".
