My former Prince definitely fails at being Jessica B. Fletcher. Today he went to his ex's to try, in a diplomatic way, to find out what the HELL is going on with all this gossip. According to Her she never said anything to her boyfriend that would cause him to think that my former Prince was trying to get back with her.
So this leaves... the boyfriend. As far as I can tell though, someone got caught in a lie and is now trying to hide it. The Prince is very angry with this, even though he is use to people talking about him behind his back.
He is the strong silent type, especially when it comes to the work place. I may have mentioned that he recently quit his job he's been at for 7 years. Since he stuck to himself and kept his mouth shut he is one the popular topics for gossip in the factory. Funny how that happens, but it's also because he wouldn't be bothered to try and correct anyone. As he put it, "Let them think what they think, I don't care. I'm there to work and get paid, that's it."
Oddly enough though, my status on Facebook has caught the attention of my friend's husband. He is usually the first person to scream about how he hates gossip and liars. Won't he be delighted to find out that one of his dear friends is possibly the source of this lie.
On one hand I'm concerned what this might do to my friend's marriage, but on the other hand I think they should both look at this for what it is: neither of them would have wanted me to get hurt if this was really the truth. They both of course believe the source of the lie since they are also close friends with this guy. It's therefore going to be interesting to see what happens if he does turn around and get upset with my friends. If anything he should be ashamed of himself if he did in fact fabricate this lie. He should then beg their forgiveness and apologize to my married friends, myself, my former Prince and his girlfriend (my former Prince's ex girlfriend) for causing all this nonsense.
For now, we wait and see what will happen.
