The road goes ever on and on
Re-reading "The Hobbit" for the first time in ages, I had forgotten how quickly the story moves along, compared to "The Lord of the Rings." In particular, I was surprised at how soon the party arrives at the trolls' camp. Growing old and forgetful has the advantage that pleasant experiences of the past are discovered anew.
