I was just thinking about this whole thing about writing letters home. Is there really a point to it?

Actually, I haven't written one at all. It seemed like a good idea at first, but I don't want to get anyone else involved in this.

It's actually kind of natural to me. I've always kept in touch over long distance, even though I'm used to doing it with email and not paper.
