in music, one doesn't make the END of a composition the POINT of the composition. if that were so then the best conductors would those who played fastest, and there would be composers who wrote only a finale, people would go to a concert o hear one crashing chord and that's the end! But we don't see that as something brought by our education into our everyday content. we've got a system of schooling which gives a completely different impression. It's all graded, and what we do is we put the child into the corridor, of this grade system with a kind of "come on kitty-kitty-kitty!" and they all go into kindergarten, you know, and that's a great thing because, you know, when you finish that then you get to go to first grade. and then come on! first grade leads to second grade and so on and then you get out of grade school and you go to high school and its revving up, it's coming! and then you're gonna go to college, and by jove then you get into graduate school, and when you're through with graduate school then you go out and you join the world. and then you get into some racket where you're selling insurance and they've got that quota to make and you're gonna make that, and all the time that thing is coming! it's coming! that great thing, that success, that you're workign for... then you wake one day when you're forty years old and you say "my god, I've arrived! I'm there!" and you don't feel very different from what you always felt and there's a slight let-down because you feel there's a hoax. and there WAS a hoax! a dreadful hoax and they made you miss everything. we thought that life by analogy was a journey, a pilgrammage with a serious purpose at the end and the thing was to get to that end! success or whatever it is or maybe heaven after you're dead but we missed the point the whole way along... it was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing or dance while the music was being played.

a friend in need's a friend indeed, a friend with weed is better, a friend with breasts and all the rest a friend who's dressed in leather, a friend in need's a friend indeed, a friend who'll tease is better, our thoughts compressed which makes us blessed and makes for stormy weather.
a friend in need's a friend indeed my Japanese is better, and when she's pressed she will undress and then she's boxing clever, a friend in need's a friend indeed, a friend who bleeds is better. my friend confessed she passed the test and we will never sever
day's dawning, skin's crawling (repeat 4x)
pure morning (repeat 8x)
