OKay, earlier today I left a comment on a friend's LJ, basically wishing her a good time at the fan convention she just arrived at, and asking her to say hello to 'the gang' for me, especially Peter if he was attending. A little bit of background: several years ago I was fairly active fannishly in several different fandoms, most notably Real ( Read more... )

Okay.....further on down the line in my AU, some shit happens that results in both Seto and Ryou taking an unexpected swim in mid-December Domino Harbor; basically they end up rescuing each other and Seto builds some major TRUST with our pale-haired Brit. They aren't together yet, but they aren't still at odds with each other anymore either....

Ryou develops walking pneumonia and ends up in the hospital. Seto feels responsible and along with paying the bills and getting the best doctors, locates and personally brings Bakura-san back to Japan (via Blue-Eyes jet?) from whatever archaeological endeavor he's currently involved. Ryou recovers, much fluffiness ensues, Bakura-San may or may not have a clue as to what's REALLY going on, and everyone's happy, more or less.

NOW: it occurred to me that Jack may have been keeping tabs on Bakura-sensei for nostalgic reasons, and when his (great)grandson-in-law gets dragged off his dig by one of the richest and most powerful men (boys?) in Japan (if not the world!) he sits up and takes notice.....

Oh yeah, Jack would definitely have the means to keep an eye on Bakura-sensei-- and after everything Jack's been through, he'd be feeling a little protective. (between the 1st and 2nd season of Torchwood, Jack meets up with the Doctor and they end up in an alternate timeline where-- at one point-- Japan is destroyed in an instant. It's part of the 3rd season of the new Doctor Who-- Utopia, The Sounds Of Drums, and Last of the Time Lords)

I like the idea of them rescuing each other-- that would make Seto see Ryou a little differently, especially since he might think Ryou would be in the right to just leave him considering what's happened between them.

Hehehe- yeah, doesn't take Jack long to join in the fun, does it?
