When my 1975 Minolta was stolen (ok, left on a bus) I thought I'd go digital later on, once the technology around digital SLRs looked more stable (they are? ok). If there's anything that makes me long for a digital camera is when I need to scan photos, and the scanner software keeps falling over - never the twain shall meet. This isn't progress, my HP scanner in Adelaide connected to a Win 2k PC never fell over. I can't practically scan photos when the scanning stops after a few photos and I have to reboot the laptop to get the scanner to work again. I'd like a you-beaut drum-type scanner but you wouldn't want to run anything critical off a Microsoft box.
I'll go digital eventually, but in the meantime I'm interested in going to a larger format camera and developing my own. Pre-digital technology is cheap right now.
And my replacement camera, the Canon EOS 10, with automatic things happening and a variable length lens just doesn't seem right. I prefer manual cameras .....
Been feeling spewey all day. I can only blame the prawns I had last night.
But the weather's good. This is serious sunshine.
And the music I've got on makes me feel very good.
