So hard to swallow

I’d be damned if I was gonna’ sit there an’ listen to Spike when I had my agenda on me. I never needed the vamp before (except to talk to and a cigarette now an’ then) damn well didn’t need him now. Especially since for some reason, he was on a power trip…just because B’ wasn’t with him. Christ, I had forgotten how annoyin’ everythin’ was when ( Read more... )

“I had it under control, you fuck. I’m not B’, I don’t need you or anyone else here lookin’ after me, and im not gonna die here tonight so why don‘t you just focus on the fuckin‘ demons, and not how I‘m fightin‘.”

"Oh, I get it. Still have an inferiority complex where Buffy's concerned, do you?"

Was beggin' to get punched and to start our own little fight down here, but she wasn't going to bloody well make it through this alone. Nobody could. Had seen these things wipe Illyria out, and throw me and Angel around like we were sodding sacks of potatoes.

"You might be strong, slaya, but you can't take these demons alone and this has nothing to do with Buffy. This has to do with keepin' you alive. This is a bloody epidemic and all four of us need to be alive. Don't know what Giles told you or sodding brainwashed you with about us, but we are still the bloody good guys, and don't think the pimply-faced little slayas are gonna be able to handle this ( ... )

As he was talkin' I was slayin'. I didn't give a flying fuck what he thought about me or the -what he called- inferiority complex with B. He knew shit what we went through, he still don't know shit, an' I wasn' about to tell him anythin' anyway. Sure, we may have done fine back when Sunny D was still in business, but now he was just pissin' me off, and if he lived through this, then I was sure as hell gonna get in some sort of a brawl. Now wasn't the time, cause' I still did need him fightin' some of the demons, but I didn't need him tellin' me anything about what I already knew. My mindset was see demon, kill demon. Flesh eatin', ( ... )

The killing went on and on. Not all were bleeding wankers. Some of these demons could fight, but when they weren't in the pack that had met us outside of the hotel all of those hours ago, they were chumps.

Faith was hacking and slashing and grunting. Say this for the bird, she sure did like to grunt. Had lost my sword somewhere along the way, but with the way that I was feeling, Angel back at the hotel and Buffy watching out for his bleeding heart needs, my fists would work just fine, thank you very sodding much.

Looked over after cracking another skull, literally, on the pavement, to see that Faith had sliced the head off of a disgusting Purflious demon, and splattered remnants now caked her attire. Good thing was, we had wiped out a good eight or nine demons in mere bloody minutes. Bad thing was, people were looking in from buildings above, getting a real dose of what the world was really like. Maybe that was a good thing ( ... )

"Don't think this is a fight we can win, slaya. Not much of a retreater, but we should either think about getting Buffy and hair gel, and hope that he can walk, the big pansy, now, or find a place to hide and pick our battles. Against all of them, we won't last. Not even we will last, slaya. Already saw Gunn and a powerful ex-God die because of this and Angel and I nearly bought the farm..."I turned my head toward ol' cocky, and then back at the demons. He was right, and I knew it. In fact, I was thinking the same thing when he had mentioned it. I had a cut on my arm, which wasn't much, but it was enough to let me know that it was there. I looked at it, then I looked at him ( ... )

"Well there is no way that I'm gonna go back to the hotel an' sit there while B patches up Angel. I know you wouldn't want to watch that either."

Slaya had a point there. Just hearing that made me want to step into the fire and take them all of, in spite of what I had just said. Couldn't believe that after she told me that she loved me, and after a year, she was staying with Captain forehead at the hotel. Wondered if she was just mad because I had taken her blood, but if that were true, wouldn't she be just as knickers-in-a-twisted because he had tastd Faith's neck?

Fact of the matter was, it was always kick to Spike with her, and I would love the bird until the day she was gone and I was still devilishly handsome and athletic, but I had to face the history here. It was always Angel for her.

"It's not like we have much a choice here, Spike. Looks like we're gonna go back and see how the two long lost are doin'."Now, I didn't want to do that. But, from a tactical standpoint, four of us, two capable vampires, well, one capable ( ... )
