Not doing things is WEIRD okay

Day six: I come bearing bullet points!

  • The good news is that conditioning myself to take "sitting at my desk" as a sign to start doing useful things worked a treat! The bad news is that I've donated my desk to Lex for the duration because he's doing 9-5 office work, so I'm not being as productive as I hoped I'd be. ... I'd suggest that we just set up the table and both work at that, but that's REALLY impractical. (There is one chair in the house, and no way to set up the table so that two people can use it without completely blocking off the kitchen.) Ah well, I'll think of something!
  • I keep going "I should sit in the back yard and enjoy the sunshine!" and end up sitting in a sunbeam on the couch and gazing adoringly at Lex instead. Who am I, what is this, why did my useless lesbian tendencies manifest like this.
  • (I TELL A LIE, we have a folding chair that no one has sat on in about five years because the matching one disintegrated. Might take that outside and try it, because sitting in the sunshine might actually get me to read a book.)
  • Ended up accidentally hyperfocusing for like ten minutes last night on picking a hole in my face because I couldn't sleep, so that's fun.
  • ... Yeah, having a routine lasted maybe three days, now everything is anarchy and forgetting to take my second dose of ADHD meds in the afternoon, so sleep is for Other People. I guess might give myself to the end of the week to catch up on sleep and then try to get my shit together again?
  • Did not in fact have nightmares three nights in a row! Miracle of miracles!
  • Housemate has started playing House Flipper, and I seriously just want a game that's just the going around and tidying/throwing things away from House Flippers with none of the tedious decorating or making decisions. Could I clean my own house and get a better dopamine ping than from cleaning a pretend house? AbsoLUTEly not.
  • Lex got a pork shoulder and did ???magic??? in the slow cooker so now we have delicious pulled pork that will probably keep us going for A While. Yaaaaaay not having to think about meals for a while!
  • Stared into my WIP folder to finish the two Castlevania fic I wanted to get done, and accidentally ended up finishing a third separate fic??? Brain why.
  • If anyone needs a free puzzle game to concentrate on instead of this mess, Colour Zen is pretty good! It's just trying to match colours in the right order, and it's exactly diverting enough for an hour of this timeline.
  • Discovered the battle royale game that I enjoy before the government designated one for me! ... It's Tetris. No really, Tetris 99 is one of those elimination/battle royale things for NO REASON THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND, and it turns out that's GREAT for my brain in hyperfocus mode. And I tried out a few demos I installed a million years ago! Cadence of Hyrule is in fact the Crypt of the Necrodancer/Legend of Zelda fanfic I expected it to be, and I suck at it. Yoshi's Crafted World is adorable and very much my aesthetic, but not fifty quid's worth my aesthetic.
  • It turns out that setting this "pick one task to do, you have succeeded at the day if you complete that task," is unironically working for me in terms of not kicking myself for not having completed EVERYTHING EVER. Like, I'm not even gonna give myself crap for lowering my standards, this is the weirdest timeline and getting anything done at all is an achievement.
  • Apparently "I do not have the correct stickers for this situation" is who I am now. Good job brain.
