Life as an Intern
Had my first 'real' day of my internship with Capitol TV yesterday (Tues). It was BORING. But that's 'cuz they really had nothing to do 'till 4, and I go in at 10am. I already got showed around the week before, so . . . I was supposed to do some observing. The boss man said they usually just have the intern observe for a little while, and then I'll get to do some camera work. Nervous about that.
Oh, and basically, what Capitol TV does, is film all the political stuff that goes on. It's in the State House, which means I hafta wear 'business casual' clothes. Which I hate. >_<; But the people that work there are somewhat laid back, I guess.
But anyways, yeah. First day I was BORED OUTTA MY SKULL!!! I basically hung out with the secretary all day. She's super nice, though, so that's cool. I sat in the office for 2 hours, then we had lunch, then we walked around kinda aimlessly for a while, sat in the control room for a while... and yeah. Not much to do yesterday. And I was there 'till quarter to 5.
I was SO bored. Hoping there will be more to do next week. I was supposed to go in today, but they told me not to bother 'cuz of the storm.
What really sucks is parking, because it's in the city. I haaaaaaaaaaaaate cities, and I hate Providence especially. Driving in it is bad enough. Parking is WORSE. They told me to park in the state offices area, but that gets full really quick, especially around the time I go in. I hadta park in the mall parking garage. That sucks, 'cuz they you hafta pay for parking. Poo.
That's about it for that, I guess.
SNOW
Pretty decent snow storm today. Lots of stuff was canceled. I didn't hafta go to class, which was nice. Work was closed, too. But that sucks, actually, 'cuz I don't work on Wednesdays anyway. *sigh* We never get a snow day when I'm SUPPOSED to work.
Just stuff
So, yeah. Between work, school, and interning, I'm gonna be pretty damn busy for a while. Kinda sucks, but hey, what're you gonna do? I need money, I need to go to school, and interning gets me experience and will look good on my resume. I wish I was getting paid for it, though. I'm not. :(
Today
Today was good, though. I had NOTHING to do. :) That's always nice. So, I watched some JAG, read some fanfic, did some writing, ate some chili and cornbread, and baked cookies. It was a pretty good day. Nice and relaxing. I won't get much of those for some time.
EDIT: Oh, and I also worked on some SG-1 fanvids. :D
regularamanda, I started the Nickelback one. You should be proud of me. :P
