Murray update!
Murray's enclosure now has cypress mulch substrate, and today I bought him a rock cave for his new hide. No more ghetto cardboard hut! :P He's exploring the top of it right now. Not sure if I'll get him a new water dish, or just leave the tupperware container with the hold in the lid. He seems to like his water hide and was soaking in it this morning.
I also just handled him for a while; the first time since he's eaten Friday. He was defensive and snappy at first, before I picked up him, but I just gently put a towel over him, then carefully lifted him out of his tank. Murray balled up almost right away, then relaxed after about 5 minutes and stretched out, wrapping around my hand and flicking his tongue out. He was quite active as I held him, and not aggressive at all.
When I put him back in the tank he was a little spazzy and struck out at the glass a few times, though. *shrugs*
