Bought Australia on dvd yesterday after classes. Watched it last night. It's a looooong movie (about 2hrs 40min), but it kept my attention the entire time. It's got action/adventure, romance, drama, and humor, and I loved it! Plus Hugh Jackman. *g* Which was my original shallow reason for wanting to see it, but it was GOOD.
There's some really beautiful scenes/scenery in the film, and it had a very heartfelt, engaging story. I really liked the little Aboriginal boy, Nullah.
I'm pretty sure the only thing that really bothered me about the movie was that you NEVER get to find out the drover's name! You'd think, since they're (Nicole Kidman's character & Hugh Jackman) in love, she would find out his name. But no. That annoyed me. I figured you'd at least find out in the end. Whatever. Still a good movie.
Also, the dvd special features were quite lacking. 2 deleted scenes that weren't very good. x_0; Maybe there was a special edition you could buy? I dunno. *shrugs*
