Rebel 40 [Written/Action]

[It was bound to happen sooner or later. Between pushing herself with extra hours at the clinic and running around in the snow more than she should have, Litchi's awesome immune system has finally been conquered. It's little more than a common cold, but she knows she can't push it anymore and needs to rest. Much as she hates to admit defeat like ( Read more... )

[While she's trying to make tea and while she isn't looking, the window will OPEN AND CLOSE. And a brief gust of cold wind will enter. Standing in front of the window is a familiar teen (since he's done this more than once before). Of course, he soon takes note of the fact she's a wreck. Maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't be suckering her out of a meal. (Though that wasn't his only reason for being here.)]

Don't you think you should be in bed, Doctor Faye-Ling? [Admonishing. Because that's what he does. Breaks into people's houses and then lectures them.]

[Though Litchi does jump a bit when he suddenly speaks up, she relaxes fairly quickly. This isn't the first surprise visit. With a sniffle, she shakes her head.]

I didn't want to bother anyone by asking them to make tea. [Ling, you are being given a look somewhere between amused and exasperated.] I'd offer you something to eat, but it's probably best if I don't get too close.

[Ling is pretty sure he doesn't want to risk it. Not even for food that good. Especially after his HORRIBLE SICKNESS (the sniffles).]

You're probably right. [Considering.] You should sit down. I can finish the tea.

If it isn't any trouble...

[Ling, now you make her feel guilty.]

It's only tea. It's not a problem at all. Just have a seat.

[He knows his way around here. He's watched her prepare food in here enough times now.]

If you're sure... [A little surprised, she sinks down into a chair, watching him curiously.]

You really don't have to stay if you don't want. I'm sure this isn't what you came by for.

[He's doing it anyway. Assuming the hot water is ready, he'll be finishing everything else up.]

Sick people need looking after. Though I'm surprised a doctor managed to let herself let it get this bad.

[Burn, Ling.]

I didn't expect it to catch up to me, to be honest.

I suspect if was because you worked yourself too hard.

If you ask my housemates, I'm sure they would agree with you.

[Three days with very little sleep and running around in the snow is hardly working too hard. :c]

What would you have told someone showing symptoms of being sick?

[Your point is made, Ling.] I would have told them to rest.

I'll try to do as the doctor says, not as the doctor does.

[He turns around with her cup of tea.]

That... may be for the best in this case, yes.

[Also, never emulate her sleep habits. Ever.]

You should drink up, then. You'll feel better.

[He will sit down as well! He has his own tea.]
