[It was bound to happen sooner or later. Between pushing herself with extra hours at the clinic and running around in the snow more than she should have, Litchi's awesome immune system has finally been conquered. It's little more than a common cold, but she knows she can't push it anymore and needs to rest. Much as she hates to admit defeat like

Don't you think you should be in bed, Doctor Faye-Ling? [Admonishing. Because that's what he does. Breaks into people's houses and then lectures them.]

I didn't want to bother anyone by asking them to make tea. [Ling, you are being given a look somewhere between amused and exasperated.] I'd offer you something to eat, but it's probably best if I don't get too close.

You're probably right. [Considering.] You should sit down. I can finish the tea.

[Ling, now you make her feel guilty.]

He pauses from his reading at some point and stares at the back of his door when he hears Litchi coughing on the other side of it. It's been like this most of the morning now...maybe he should actually get up and make sure everything's ok. He puts down his book and quietly opens the door to see if Litchi was there. Not seeing her, he moves towards the kitchen where he could hear some sounds from there.
He sees her in the kitchen, but he won't address himself right then. Just observing her for now.]

Oh, Kazuma, I'm sorry... I didn't wake you, did I?

No, I was just reading...How are you feeling?

...You do know I'm going to tell you to go to bed after you get done making that.
[Because he's not gonna stop her from making tea. He knows that she knows how to make a lot of really soothing brews and that she's the doctor. But even knowing all of this, he knows Litchi's habit of working herself until she's run ragged and he's not putting it past her to want to try to slip out if she's able.]
...And that I expect you'll leave the housework to Tsubaki and I until you're feeling better.
[...He's serious.]

I know. But I really hate to bother either of you.
[As she absently pokes at her tea strainer, making sure the leaves are steeping properly, she gives another sniffle.]
It shouldn't take long for this to go away, if that's any help.

[He walks over closer to her, watching her as she pokes at the strainer.]
...I just want you to feel better and not worry about anything for a little while.

Thank you, David. I'll try.
[On both of those things. She's confident about feeling better, but not worrying is like asking a fish not to swim.]
Right now, all I'm hoping is that this tea will warm me up. [Sniffle.] All of this snow seems to be getting the better of me.

... Ah, Doctor Faye-Ling - you are certain you are alright other than a cold?
... Do you need me to... cover for anything?
Reply
[Sniffle.] If you could make sure that the supplies are all kept up, that would be wonderful.
Reply
Ah, I certainly will - especially for others unfortunate enough to come down with the same ailment...
[Almost shyly:] ... If you wished, I could... m-make you a soup, of some kind? That tends to be... soothing. [Even if it's not really a cure...]

Thank you, Professor Hastings, it's very nice of you to offer. But I don't want to trouble you.

And thank you very much for asking, but I think everything is fine for now. Please let me know if anything comes up at the clinic, though.
