Back in July I noticed that I reached 1000 miles on my bicycle a month later than usual, and in early November I was kind of worried that I would not get anywhere near 2000 for the year. I got the sim for my iPhone, and got it enabled with my phone number! I'm still working on customizing it to my liking. I have a lame plan (I just recharge it with $100 periodically, and pay per minute/text/megabyte), and thus I do not like my apps to use mobile data. Beautiful day yesterday. Too windy to waterski, even though the boat is (mostly) repaired. Maybe I didn't blog about it being broken. A little while ago, it wouldn't start and we diagnosed some electrical problem. A few days later some more effort was put into this diagnosis, and corrosion was found. I rode my thousandth mile for the year yesterday. This is quite late for me - usually it is in June. On the other hand I spent three prime bicycling weeks in California. So it was also a very exerciseful weekend. Before we heard about the new boat, on Saturday morning, I tried again to ski behind the neighbor's boat, and this time I was able to get up, probably due to not having a wetsuit, and having lighter weight people as crew on the boat. For the second time in seven days I had an opportunity to ride my bike the traditional 23 mile route. Interestingly, there was a detour, which had a large unfriendly sign saying "bicycles take detour", but it turned out not to make much difference. Well sort of. I had stopped in the middle of my ride, and I managed to kick the center bar with my foot as I was lifting it over, and the bike toppled onto me, and I toppled onto the road.
