Our lives are complicated, and I arranged for a car to teleport itself northward, and today I blew off work and biked up to get it.
Recorded 22.70 in 2:21 for a scarily-bad average of 9.6.
Two things affecting this: fairly stiff headwind, and, apparently my odometer is reading about 3% low, since the same ride is usually 23.3. Now, I did get a new tire recently, so probably it's just bigger. Ken thinks that I can adjust the tire size on my odometer, and I'll just have to see if I can do that. It still wouldn't have made the average as high as 10.
Then, I got to drive the car home. I've actually been missing driving, because I listen to the radio, and I'm apparently missing it. I don't want to drive quite as much as I normally do for commuting, but apparently I'd like to do it more often than every six weeks. Maybe I should figure out some time to listen to the radio. When I switched from a public transit commute to a driving commute, I had to figure out a time to read my book at home. I think maybe I wasn't listening to the radio much at that time, but I've been having a driving commute for nearly 20 years now, and listening to pop music has become a part of my life.
It was also enormously fun to drive down a normally very crowded freeway at 5:30 PM on a Tuesday at 60 or 70 miles an hour, just because there were hardly any other cars.
