6 impossible things before breakfast, and bad car-ma (and bad bike-ma too)
Yesterday we took out the dock. Did it bright an early because a big storm was predicted and we wanted to do it before it got very windy. Lots of work, but finished in about an hour.
The boats are still in the water, but we can canoe out to them when it's time to haul. Unfortunately the powerboat needs work, so we'll be taking it straight to the shop. We didn't want to take it out this weekend due to the aforementioned storm. But next weekend, regardless of weather's permission, we'll take the power boat out. Not sure when we'll get the sailboat.
Thursday morning I made an appointment for the new prius to get its 30K mile service on Monday.
Thursday evening on the way home from work I noticed my motorcycle sending up gouts of smelly smoke when I was at a stop light. Damn. Big oil leak. Checked my maintenance records, and the very same thing happened in December 2011. Made an appointment for it (also on Monday).
I planned to tow it there in the utility trailer, which was full of leaves and brush collected over the summer. Brush dump was open Saturday, so I emptied the trailer (in the rain). When I got back with the trailer, Ken noticed that one of the lug nuts on a trailer wheel was MISSING! We bought a new nut, and tightened all the rest, several of which were pretty loose! Lucky the wheels didn't fall off! Should be good for the trip to the motorcycle shop, though.
The electric car has been making some noise when you go over a bump. Well, Saturday it made a LOT MORE noise, and we looked and it's dragging suspension parts. Crap. Guess we'll be taking it in too! Probably after the prius is done.
Fortunately we haven't yet sold our old Highlander, so we have two highlanders to drive on Monday! We had someone interested in the highlander before we put it on craigslist, but they changed their mind. So I should get that ad up, but I forgot to take pictures before the storm hit. Pictures look better taken in sunshine... However, at the moment it's fortunate since we need another vehicle.
