A couple days ago it was Earth Day and I happened to watch Oprah with my mom. One of the segments on her show was talking about the Dolphin slaughter that happens in Japan every September. I just feel so helpless seeing things like that. Even if I were to donate all my money, and go out on the boats and fight them with Greenpeace, I still feel like my efforts wouldn't do much.

I've seen video of the Japanese fishing boats with the Sharks. That was so upsetting as well, like a holocaust of ocean life.

I'm glad that Oprah had that clip about The Cove. I think a lot of people are afraid to get involved with animal rights groups because the groups can use shock imagery to guilt people into giving money. Sometimes I just want to know that I'm helping out without knowing the horrors. Some people can take it, I can't. Not when it comes to animals.

Cosmic horrors from beyond are more appealing because they couldn't be nearly has horrific as humans really can be. Most people are nice and good, but there are a few that, for whatever reason, sink to horrific lows that not even Lovecraft could conceive.
