It's been ages and ages since Rumble and I did an AKC show. We did a lot of USDAA last summer and into the fall. I signed up for an AKC show in Salem when
penichops was here, but it was hotter than a F*(&%$ so we didn't go. Agility in 107 temps just isn't our cup o' tea.
This show was in Eugene on Thanksgiving weekend. One ring/judge. Which is always a double-plus-good for Rumble because no dogs running in the other ring helps his focus.
We also got extremely lucky on the weather. It was SUNNY!!! and actually about 52 or so on Friday. Saturday there were some rain showers, but I never got caught in one.
He did really well. I was most happy with perfect weaves both days. We had some interesting contact performances. ha! On one Standard run BOTH the judge and I admonished him for a poor A-Frame! LOL... but two obsticals later (dogwalk) he NAILED it and we both laughed at him. He got 2 T2B Qs and one JWW that he didn't deserve (knocked bar). But I really felt like we were connected and both having fun. It was also his first show at P16. I love Rumble at 16. It's easy, and smooth. And we'll never be "champion" material... so why not jump a bit lower and just have a rockin good time?
There's a lot of people you ONLY see at AKC, so I've missed those folks. I wish
redwoodranch would have been there. It's in her backyard. But no... *sadface*
Here are a few runs that got on video -- Oh!!! and I WON some videos from the video guy (gift certificate for $25)! in the worker's raffle. Score.
