Ianto doesn’t look up as Jack sits beside him on the tailgate of the SUV. He hardly acknowledges him, wanting to blame him for what's happened but knowing it was out of his control.
But when Jack sighs-a heavy, world-weary sigh he’s come to know too well-something tugs at his heart. Something he’s tried to deny for too long.
He holds out his hand to his captain, not quite caring if the others see.
Jack takes his hand quickly, holding tightly as if it were his lifeline. When Jack pulls him close, he clings back just as tightly.
