Today someone lent me there car, which got me to some places I had not been before. Like always, I had a camera.
Enjoy.
I have to do a series of images for school. These ones were all about choices. They started with stairwells, but people got the wrong idea about those.
I was originally on my way back to 17th Avenue, and then going back to 14th when I took a wonrg turn in an alley. There was a garbage can in the alleyway, so I stoped and moved it. Where I stopped was an ancient garage with this basket.
One man's garbage is anothers treasure. I would love to stop and grab this trunk, but only to pull all the old corners off of it. I have no idea how long it has been there, but using those in alternative artworks would be really cool. It's just sitting abandoned near the back alley.
While living in edmonton, and when I first came to Calgary, I found numbers painted in stencil patterns to indicate parking stalls. Out of the blue today I find the same thing. Someone out there had a bit of imagination, that's for sure.
This is another image in the "choices" project. It was originally supposed to be based off of the Robert Frost poem titled "The road not taken".
It was disappointing to see how many old couches and chairs were sitting in the alleys. I was a bit surprised to pass by several garages with people kicking back on old furniture, chilling from the heat in the house.
I'm going to leave you all with patterns. The nice thing is I know where to go to photograph these things again, maybe bring some better lighting, a tripod and a few other things to take better photographs. For now, though, I hope you enjoyed them.
