Like belmanoir, I waffled about posting this, but I figure...it's maybe useful to some folks who like making/giving stuff, and I like reading these things when they pop up on my f-list, so, uh, here!

No one will see through your brilliant plan! "Mack" the immortal Scottish highlander with a dark past, perhaps even prone to manly brooding, with tempestuous exes who return from the past to haunt and torment and hit on him. That has definitely never been done!! (That totally cracked me up, btw. Good thing you threw that "k" in there at the end, or people might confuse our vision with... other people's vision. That has never been done.) I still wanna see your due South Harlequin treatment, but here's mine:

Fraser is a good man, a stalwart Mountie, the last of his kind. He has dedicated himself to helping others above and beyond petty concerns such as his own love life, his own comfort, indeed, his own apartment. He chooses to Fight Crime and Right Wrongs and shies away from love ever since his heart was broken by a Dark Temptress from his Past.

But now, a bitter divorcee with a heart of gold has come to town, and will turn Fraser's life upside down. Will Fraser see through his deceit as he engages in a dangerous masquerade to protect Fraser's best friend?

I wonder if one could spin *any* show to make the canon sound like a Harlequin?

I think that's a pretty damn good Harlequin treatment! The "bitter divorcee with a heart of gold" is of particular interest. Who could this mysterious man be?

I wonder if one could spin *any* show to make the canon sound like a Harlequin?

MYTHBUSTERS! *g*

Also, I figured out that I can't really Harlequin-ize anything properly. I want to turn 'em into historical romances. And that would just make dS into either my Western AU or...well, actually that's the only historical romance I've ever considered writing.

Oh! Except for our Regency AU! Damn, that was fun times brainstorming for that one. Ray the penniless dance instructor! Fraser, the wealthy landed earl! ♥

OMG!! I have so many WiP I keep forgetting about them. The other day when someone (was it you?) reminded me about the amnesia fic I had completely forgotten about (yes, very ironic, I know), I was like, "Oh, hey! I wrote some of that, didn't I? And I'd planned to finish that, and not make it so depressing. Huh."

But the penniless dance instructor, heh. Good times. How about the cast-out single parent with a sordid past who desperately needs a hand, taken in by a devastatingly handsome stranger? A classic for a reason, no? Which is which? And Nos, MARRIAGE OF CONVENIECE. MAIL-ORDER SPOUSES. LONELY CATTLE-RANCHERS ORDERING MAIL-ORDER SPOUSES.

Fraser as a prim and proper schoolteacher in the old West, and Ray as a lonely widowed rancher with two rowdy children who need a kind but firm hand?????? C'mon, spare a flight of fancy for a pal?

OMG I love that SO MUCH! Just...MAIL ORDER SPOUSE! And of course there would be some kind of confusion!

Ray Kowalski, widowed rancher and the father of two young children, was anticipating the arrival of a demure new bride to be a mother to his children and a salve to his lonely heart. Instead the unexpected arrived, in the form of school marm Benton Fraser.

Initially Ray is irritated by the man's mulish manners and old-fashioned sense of decorum, but as the summer cattle season begins he starts to see the change Fraser has wrought in his children...and in Ray himself. But how could Ray Kowalski ever fall for another man?

STAY TUNED

Eeeee, I love it!! I especially loved the salve to his lonely heart. It was a salve to mine just reading it! Hee. And "school marm Benton Fraser" made me smile. But, the angst! Could Ray ever fall in love with another man? I guess I will have to STAY TUNED!!

Nos is a win factory! All her threads are rock-solid win.

Also, many hearts to you, too. :)

Howzabout your treatment, GG? I'm thinking the woman who could write a story revolving around a charming old-fashioned matchmaking service, a lovelorn sister, a lonely Mountie and a comical mix-up is just the woman to write Harlequin summaries for our very bestest fandoms.

What do you say? Hard-nosed Captain of Industry inadvertedly falls for his kooky dog-walker? Cut-throat rivals who develop an inexplicable attraction but must still compete? Tragically separated childhood sweethearts reunited? I know you have it in you!
