Squee!! You went to the Dept of the Interior museum! Hee, I used to love that museum when I worked for the Park Service. I didn't work in that building, but I was over there every few months to deliver things or bother people, and I always took a run through the museum. It's been, oh, 12 years since I was last there.

I'm so nostalgic now.

The museum was pretty awesome! I think they've made some changes, though - a lot of the dioramas are gone, and they've replaced part of the museum with a small art gallery. You should swing by, if you get a chance. I bet Yael would like it! Tiny skiers, tiny mining accident...well, okay. Maybe when she's a little older :-)

Just tell me they've still got the bison. I loved the bison!

They do still have the bison! I posed for a picture, naturally, but it was a little blurry so I couldn't include it, but I assure you that the bison is still alive and well :-)

Oh, awesome! *loves museums*

And the botanical gardens! I've heard they're lovely.

Yay vicarious travel! (And you two are still adorable. :D)

You should absolutely go to the Botanical Gardens, if you get a chance. They really were beautiful. And the museums were a lot of fun. I wish we'd seen a few more, actually - O did her best but Washington is chock-full of great museums, and we inevitably missed a couple. Still! Lots of fun!

And now I'm totally writing a dS/West Wing crossover. Because apparently I like WiPs!

It's a diorama...of the museum gift shop! It is located inside the gift shop!

I love this more then I have words to express.

This looks like crazy fun and quality edu-tainment. You and O are so adorable! And I really like your dress. So I call all of this a total win (um... Apparently you needed me to confirm the win for you? No probably not)

You would have loved it, Sonia! LAYERS of weirdness! Dioramas within dioramas! (Clearly they know where the real appeal of the museum was).

And yes, it was edu-tainment-tastic :-) Your confirmation of the win is indeed necessary. *hive fives you*

Evil Interior people. Like the dioramas are so information-sensitive, hey? At least you like dioramas a lot, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. :P

... Luggage inspection? Seriously?

Seriously, Meres. Between that and the weird Postal Museum exhibits, it was a strange, strange trip to America Land.

Sorry about the problems with my brilliant photo filter - I don't know what's wrong. *sigh* I need to back to the drawing board with the gallery stuff, I think.

My class are learning about Apollo 11 at the moment so I'm very jealous of your Air and Space museum visit on their (and my!) behalf!

I'm glad you had such a great trip, Tourist!Nos.

It was a great trip! And I hope you can make it over to this side of the pond and see the museum for yourself, Leafy! You'd love it.
