Quick question
scarfe wanted to know if anyone would ever offer up "hubba hubba" as feedback for an NC-17 story. I told him that only my ninety year-old grandmother would do something like that, but he insists that it's a perfectly valid response to a porny story.
Poll Slighty charming and offbeat, or freaky-deaky?
I put in some time wandering around aimlessly around Staples today. I serious business to accomplish, including the purchase of a new office chair. We only have one right now, because the Office Chair of Woe that I rescued from the YWCA recycling last summer finally snapped in half. (Please, no fat jokes. There was metal fatigue! And scarfe sits weird!) In what has become tradition in our relationship, I gave him my old chair and picked out a new one for myself because I was tired of sitting on a kitchen chair. It's grey and adjustable in THREE places (which beats my old chair by three) and I bought a mat to go underneath so the carpet will stop looking so distressed and begin to look a bit more carpet-y.
In further Staples adventures, brynnmck (acting on spuffyduds' excellent suggestion) has instituted a Con Library at bitchinparty, and I arranged for Staples to print us up a Big Gay Book of Big Gay Porn. scarfe had already formatted a small assortment of my stories when he created that hardcover collection for my birthday, so I printed that up and asked the kind people at Staples to supply us with some porn and, uh, stories about bears and such. I ordered about 25 copies, so if you'd like very own collection of Nos fics, you can score one at the con for the bargain price of free. (I'll also mail some out, and holy Christ am I behind on mailing stuff to folks. I'm so sorry. I think I have a psychic aversion to Canada Post).
Aaaaand in final new today, I may have actually gotten my act together re: can_con2008. (And please, no one point out how sad it is that I can't remember how to spell the name of my own LJ group). I've gotten in touch with the RCW 139 folks and an alliance has been struck. I've also firmed up some hotel arrangements, and I hope to have something concrete to tell you all before bitchinparty. Because the only thing better than one convention? Another convention five months later! \o/
