"All aboard for fun-time!"
The RCW 139 convention dates have been announced (and many thanks to secretlybronte for the nudge). The RCW con will run from Friday, August 15th to Sunday, August 17th, 2008, and it will be held at the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville hotel, which is near the intersection of Bloor and Yonge in Toronto, Ontario. As I mentioned in my last post, I'm thinking of hosting a possible alternative convention for those who want to attend RCW but are skeeered because a) we're not sure if it's slash-friendly, b) we have no idea who the organizers are and c) it might be officially endorsed, which means guest speakers and pannels and vendors and all manner of nuttiness.
So, alterna-con. I'd like to figure out some possible dates so that you can decide if you want to come and have a slash-friendly LJ party in Toronto at the same time (or shortly before/after) the RCW con. You know what that means?
Once again, voting in no way commits you to attend. I'm just trying to get a sense of what dates might work for people, and who would prioritize the RCW con over something smaller and slash-friendly.

ETA: Sorry, I screwed up - I should have included an option to have the con during RCW, from the 15th to the 17th. And yep, we're all fully aware now that "the Great White Meetup" makes it sound like I'm organizing a skinhead meeting. I really shouldn't be trusted with a keyboard.
