My 15 minutes come due...

I'm not sure if anyone remembers this, but I posted a looong time ago that I'd received an interesting email from one David Atlas of Luckystar Productions. He was interested in putting together a Batman fan-film for distrubution online, and he wanted to use my Batman fanfic Children of the Night as the basis for the script. I gave the go-ahead, figuring it would come to nothing, but today he emailed me to say he's finished preproduction and that casting starts this week. Filming is set to begin in Philidelphia after Christmas, and he sent along a copy of the script as well as an invitation to visit the set if I can get down to Philly.

The project has been broken down into four one-hour installments, with each section covering one part of the story. I read over most of the first script early this morning and, well, it needs some work, but on the whole I think it's going to be a fairly interesting fan film if it does end up getting produced. Not that I'm biased or anything :-) Anyway, I thought those of you who liked "Children" would want to know about this, and I'll post updates here as things start moving along. I have to get in touch with David and ask how much he's comfortable with me discussing here on LJ, but if anyone wants any more info please feel free to email me. Whatever happens, it's gratifying to get this kind of attention for a creative work and it came as a real boost to learn that this thing might actually happen. So, hooray!
