If you have a new indie band in the Metroplex and you’ve finally gotten good enough to start playing outside your mom’s basement, it could be time to start booking gigs at the indie venues in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Denton, Texas. Before Superpages.com Music Center (formally Smirnoff, before that Coca Cola Starplex) and the American Airlines Center come calling, you may be setting your hopes a little high when first starting out getting gigs and booking venues for your indie band.

Smaller venues that embrace indie bands and unsigned artists are your best bet. Although there are 100s of bars and music venues in the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton area, there are a few that once you are on the rotation, the others will soon follow suit once you have built your street cred. 1. Club Dada - A faded teal exterior trimmed in skillfully and colorfully painted tribal masks and a neon sign greet visitors to one of the best-known clubs in town. Three music stages--two inside and one outside--offers plenty of opportunity for dancing or just hanging out. They accept a large variety of live music with local and national acts with an audition only open mic. They were voted “Best Rock Bar 2008 Dallas Observer." According to their MySpace page,
